A rental contract was signed and deposit was made on 4/2/23. At the time of booking, I was the only one I knew FOR SURE would be making the trip, so I listed as "1" . Company states that they left voicemail messages to inquire on the number of people that would be in our party. I don't utilize voicemail, so never received them. They sent me an email on 4/3/23, asking about number of guests. I was figuring out if my elderly parents would be able to make the trip. When I went to reply, within 72 hours, I had received an email stating they'd CANCELED my reservation. Upon review of the cabin availability, it appears they re-rented the unit, for the same time-frame, almost immediately. Mind you, the reservation was not due to take place until September ****, so there was SIX months to gather any necessary information. Company states the reservation was canceled due not receiving a return call. However, there is nothing in the contract that indicates a certain policy or number of days for communication. They had NO reason to think there wouldn't just be one guest, because that was all I knew at the time of the reservation. This cancelation seems to be a clear breech of contract and unethical renting practices. In all my years of travel planning (which I do regularly) I've never experienced such a disregard for abiding by contracts or people's time/money/plans.
