Called dealership on 7/11/24 Negotiated a sales price $99,000 Sale person (*****) said he would ask manager for price approval and call back Called back after a few minutes saying he got the approval on the $99,000 as long as I financed with them After I filled out the finance paperwork for the agreed upon price, they then started running my credit getting it approved for a higher price ($113,000) and then they proceed to tell me that they could not do the agreed upon $99,000. The Finance person (****) said sales (*****) had never clear the price with him or even mentioned a negotiated price. When talking again to sales (*****) he proceeded to lie (or give an incorrect reenactment of why he had told me), telling me he never agreed to that price and over explaining on what he "actually" told me (all which was incorrect)Not sure if this is a case of incompetence between various department and people or if this is a scam to get buys to agree to a number and increase that sales number after the credit it run?! Or possibly they are pushing people for run the finance threw their banks they work with to get the kick backs even though they know they are not going to get the sale?!Either way my credit and my wife's credit both got ran and took a hit at a sales price that was not agreed upon. We would have never agreed to this if we were not tricked into thinking the agreed upon sales price is what we would actually be able to purchase the ** for.

A sale price of $99,995 was never agreed upon. Our words were "if you finance with us then we may be able to work something out", we have this on a recorded line. The customer ASSUMED that meant the price was $99,995. There is nothing in writing or nothing said verbally that said we were selling the ** for $99,995. The customer was not "tricked" into submitting a credit application, this was just a matter of the customer assuming that "we will work something out" meant that we would agree to their sale price offer. Simple miscommunication, nothing done intentionally or maliciously

I am rejecting this response because:

I absolutely was lead to believe the price was agreed upon. Whether I was Tricked or falsely lead to fill out their credit application by being feed incorrect information, either way that is bad business.

As heard in the recording, ***** says "Let me get confirmation if that would be exactly it... then I will just send the link to the credit application." Soon after I received the application, leading me to believe that the price must have been accept as he said he WOULD NOT send me the application until he got the number confirmed. Therefore by NOT TELLING ME that he DID NOT get the price confirmed, said nothing and sent me the form, I filled out the application on false pretense.

To this point, while talking with a finance person there (****) he said that we WAS NOT approached by ***** about a sales price, and that if he had been he would have said there WAS NO WIGGLE ROOM on the price at all. So either way there was never any intent for them to work something out with the price and my credit should have never been ran in the first place.

Also stated by *****, I should have receive a writing quote before having my credit run, especially since I said I was only interested at $99,995 and they ran my credit without telling me a price, let alone running my credit at a price I would have never agreed upon and telling me there was absolutely no wiggle room and they knew I would not be interested at full list price.

Simple case of both parties assuming. Customer assumed price had been dropped and salesman assumed customer was okay with meeting somewhere in the middle. I have personally spoken with the customer about this and we agreed in hindsight the salesman should've sent over a quote with numbers so the customer could sign off on everything, but there was clearly no malicious intent behind anything the dealership did. Simple mistake, plus it sounds like the customer ended up finding the ** they wanted at another dealership so all's well that ends well.

I am rejecting this response because:
There may have been some assumption in this process, but where the problem lies is when it come to them running my credit before ever telling me a sales price or providing a quote to be signed off on as they promised they would... this is just a fact that this should not have happened! And as stated before by me, whether it was "malicious intent" or just incompetence with the employees, either way we get to the same end result of bad business and unhappy customers.

And yes I did end up purchasing from another dealership (which has nothing to do with anything), but this still caused an unnecessary amount of stress and frustration on our end, and I would like future buyers to be aware as well as this to be a learning experience for their company.
