We closed on our house at the end of December 2024 and have now been here for four months. The yard was unfinished when we moved in. They signed a contract stating it would be finished and that still has not occurred. They have stated it was a “scheduling error” and there is “no excuse” yet still have not come. They are completing other unsold homes in the neighborhood. There is an enormous crack in our new concrete driveway that they refuse to fix.

      Business Response

      Date: 05/14/2025

This is our formal response to Complaint *********, submitted in April of this year. The homeowners closed on their property on December 18, 2024. At that time, we experienced a brief window of favorable weather, which allowed us to complete the front yard finish grading, landscaping, and sod installation. This is atypical for homes closing during the winter months, but we were fortunate to accomplish this work.

The backyard was scheduled for grading and seed-and-straw installation; however, the weather conditions did not remain suitable long enough to complete this phase. The homeowners did not purchase sod for the backyard, so the planned and agreed-upon finish was seed and straw.

Unfortunately, winter conditions quickly set in, followed by one of the harshest winters on record for the region. This was compounded by one of the wettest late winters and early springs in over two decades, resulting in unavoidable delays.

We met with the homeowners at the property on April 22 to explain the weather-related delays. The backyard work was subsequently completed during the week of April 28.

In regard to the customer’s concern about the “enormous” crack in their driveway, our records indicate that no prior communication has been received regarding this issue. Additionally, during a site visit with a Premier Homes representative on April 22, this matter was not brought up or discussed.

Should the customer wish to have this issue reviewed, we encourage them to document it as part of their 30-day warranty walk. As a reminder, Premier Homes provides two scheduled warranty walks during the first year following closing. The coverage and guidelines for exterior concrete are clearly detailed in the 2-10 Warranty Manual, which was provided to the customer at the time of closing.

Please let us know if we can assist further.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:Premier Homes is not disclosing the full story. Premier Homes was contacted multiple times through March and early April about the yard not being completed as at least six (6) other homes had their seed and straw yards completed before ours. These homes were also unsold and uninhabited prior to their full completion. Premier Homes told me on multiple occasions there was “no excuse” for their “scheduling mistake”. It wasn’t until I posted public reviews on ******** that Premier Homes came to correct their “mistake”. I have all text messages and reviews regarding this. Additionally, the crack in the driveway was discussed at the 30-day walkthrough and there was “nothing they could do about it.” Regardless of the warranty, a brand new, freshly poured and PROPERLY FINISHED driveway should not be cracked across the entire thing within 3 months of living on the property. Additionally, when Premier Homes came out on April 22nd, ****** himself, who responded to this report, stated there was again “no excuse for their mistakes” and did not have an explanation for why other homes were completed first. ****** also repeatedly asked to come to my home in person to “explain” despite my requests to have his explanation in writing. Premier’s business conduct is completely unprofessional and their continued untruthful comments and responses are extremely frustrating. To this day, my backyard is approximately 85% finished. Premier is not a trustworthy company.

      Sincerely,

      ***** *******
