      I went to the dealership and ordered a ***** Civic hatchback on April 2nd. I was told that it would probably be July before it came in, but there was no guarantee it would arrive then. When I emailed a month or so later to see if we were still on track for July, I was told we were not and that the Civic was currently out of production. I called again a few months later and was told the production date was now November and the car should arrive in December. I called again (PLEASE NOTE THAT THE DEALER NEVER MADE THE INITIAL CONTACT TO LET ME KNOW THE STATUS OF THE CAR I ORDERED BUT ONLY RESPONDED WHEN I WOULD CALL TO CHECK), and was then told that it would no longer be produced until December, that it was no longer a 2022 but a 2023 and they would not honor the price we agreed upon when I rendered my down payment. They said they could no longer tell me what the price of the car would be but they had a 2022 coming in that was a step above my car that I could buy. (Looks to be about $4,000.00 more than the car I ordered from the brief glance I took). Had I had any idea, I would have gone with Ford who, from what I am told, guarantees the price that was given when the deal is made, or Toyota. Now I am not sure what to do, particularly since I have no idea what they will charge for the car I ordered or if it will even ever arrive. I know the Pandemic changed things and that there is a chip shortage, but it seems to me a very poor way to conduct business and I will certainly not be recommending them to friends and family.
