I had 3 hogs processed at "this old farm", my customers recieved the wrong hogs when they were clearly labeled and placed in writing, then when one of my customers recieved their meat, a week later the customer was contacted and told they were given 15 lbs too much of a particular meat and needed to bring it back. i do believe that would be a violation of *** rules and quite a risky move for the buisiness. needless to say, the customer will not be returning the mix up. to run a buisiness like this, the employer needs to ensure the employee`s are more detailed orientated or more clear and concise instructions are given to emplyee`s, when a customer is paying a premium price they expect to recieve a order that is correct.

Running a traceable processing facility does indeed take a tremendous amount of detail. It would be much easier to ensure orders are correct at pick up by taking requests from a pool of meat as the large industry would or even 95% of the small ********* facilities. Instead, we work hard to trace each piece of a customers individual animal through the system. We invite anyone to come in and see how indepth and detail oriented this process is. When an error does occur, we own it. It was important for the customer to hear that they got an extra 15 lbs of bacon or else they would have been angry the following year when they got the right amount. Calling them and owning the error was not a *** violation nor was it a USDA violation. The customer reviewing does not understand the meat inspection world as we are USDA inspected. This matter was handled professionally by notifying the customer, giving them the option to return or keep the product as a bonus, and then letting the customer know that did not get bacon that we would deliver them bacon cut from a separate hog in which they were happy with. It seems that this complaint is based on our business choosing to be 100% honest and ethical alongside the customer not understanding behind the doors as a ********* facility (which would be totally understandable). I will reach out to them again to make sure there is a better understanding.
