  Master ** has been an awesome teacher for our family of four. His dedication to this art is worth being grateful for. He knows each student by their name, not only that- he knows their individual strengths and weakness. The whole team is unique- an always welcoming front desk team, ********* who is such a great pleasure to be around, Grand Master **- who presides over all the promotion testing. I do feel that this is a much needed presence in todays confused society and will be ever thankful for Master *** kindness and all the other instructors who are always eager to help us grow. Truly makes us feel like we are one giant family. Thank you for the opportunity to share our positive experience.

  I first became a student here in 1986. The school's founder worked tirelessly with me (I was a difficult 80's kid) and I credit the family and their school with a piece of the successes I've achieved throughout my life. Their commitment to courtesy, integrity, perseverance, and self-control- along with an overarching theme of respect- provided me with tools that have helped me be successful in several other areas of my life. In 2022 my family decided to investigate martial arts schools, and we reconnected with the family; now I'm furthering my black-belt career in Taekwondo here while my son and wife are nearly at their first goal of achieving black-belt status. In many of the schools we researched, we found that the focus on respect and traditional TKD values had been completely eroded; I was happy to find that Master ** and his staff have found ways to instill in my son the same core values I learned almost 40 years ago. I see the lessons translating to his other successes already in school, in tennis, and generally in his life. I'm getting back in shape in sparring classes, the evening black-belt classes, and I'm seeing my (sorry honey) very clumsy wife gaining better self-control of her giraffe-like body while learning core skills that she can apply to her daily personal and professional life. I love having opportunities to share what I'm learning with both the kids and the adults at the school and sharing in the growth of the students and families. The things that you learn in any martial arts school are tools; it's what you do with them that matters, and **'s puts the mental tools of their training at the same level of importance as the physical ones, which is extremely difficult to find these days.

  My family has been with **'s Martial Arts for 13 years. There are nine of us who have been and/or are still active students. Together, we have all learned the art of self-defense, have gotten stronger, and have become more confident due to the rigors of the teachings at this school. My family has learned respect, courtesy, self-confidence, perseverance, integrity and to have a strong spirit as students of **'s. Learning from Grandmaster Ko and Master ** has been a privilege that has affected our lives in profound ways. My oldest son, after several years of learning at ****, became an officer in the ************* He told me that his training at **'s helped him during his basic training at ***, helping him to become one of the youngest officers to graduate the program. My six daughters have all told me that they feel more comfortable in any situation that they have found themselves in. They know how to protect themselves and are more aware of potential threats. Several of my daughters are now 3rd degree blackbelts, a leadership level. This distinction has helped them to earn college scholarships, including several national scholarships. My second son, during an unrelated trip, had a major accident, breaking his back and injuring his spinal cord. It took him months to learn to walk again. While he did have help from many sources, he attributes the strength and courage that he gained while earning his blackbelt to helping him conquer paralysis. I myself have been treated for cancer two different times in 10 years. While receiving treatment, I was welcomed at **'s to continue working on my material, helping me to stay mentally strong during my battle. It was through **'s that I was able to gain back the energy that cancer took from me. Ko's Martial *********** has produced many fine students. My family is proud to be among them.

  My daughter and I have been students at Ko's Martial Arts Academy since 2019. In that time we have both achieved a black belt ranking, and we are very close to earning our 2nd ***************** belt. For myself, I can say, that I have seen positive changes in both my mental and physical health. I do feel that if I were in a situation that called for it I would be able to defend myself thanks to the teachings of Master **. All of the instructors at **'s truly care about the development of their students, but it does take hard work and accountability. The changes I have seen in my daughter are also positive. She has gained self-confidence, self-awareness, better balance, physically stronger, and she has learned to grow from failures and work harder to succeed. The lessons we have gained are not all I am thankful for. Being a student at **** is like being a member of a large family; where everyone is looking out for one another. We all work to help each other be our best selves.

  My son and I attend the ********* location. Master ** and his instructors are very knowledgeable, high ranking black belts. They teach not just ***************, but also life lessons. Discipline, honor, strength, hard work, courtesy; These are just a few things they are very heavy on. They teach how to control your body and mind. They teach to defend yourself, not just to fight. They have students of all ages and backgrounds. My son has a high functioning for of autism, and that does not slow them down a bit. They are all so good with their students not matter their physical ability levels. His confidence has soared since he started there. Martial arts has always been a big part of my life and I would never recommend and school higher than this. I love the structure of working together as a class as well as the individual instruction. Master ** teaches his students so well that the higher ranking students are able to instruct the lower ranking ones properly, which help them develop leadership skills as well. Everyone there is treated as family. Even outside of classes. They do gathers where both schools get together just to have fun together. It truly is a real community which is hard to find in today's world. Ultimately Ko's is the best place to go, no matter your ability level.

  My name is *************** and I am a new student at Ko's Martial Arts Academy at their ***************** location. I was introduced to taekwondo approximately 5+ years ago when my daughters boyfriend invited me to watch him perform his 1st ***************** belt test. It was just amazing to watch his forms and board break and how focused and precise his movements were. *************************** and Master ** have given him a positive environment to find his passion for martial arts and a self confidence that he did not have before joining. My young son who was 9 at the time was also impressed. So much so that he begged me to let him join. I was sold! My son needed such an environment to build his own self confidence from being bullied and having low self esteem. In the 5 years my son has been a student he has matured in areas of responsibility, physical fitness and self confidence. He also has impressive forms and board breaks. While my son has learned forms, self defense and free sparring he has also learned korean terminology and an appreciation for a culture not of his own. The classes are diverse and inclusive to kids of different ages and cultures as well as adults. The environment of teaching is that everyone learns leadership by helping those of lower belt ranks learn new forms, self defense and free sparring. Master ** and other instructors lead classes and then during a small break out session students get into small groups and teach those of a lower belt what they themselves have already learned. This helps enhance the class with a one on one learning experience. For me, I enjoy seeing the self confidence in a student as they get an opportunity to teach a form or skill they have already mastered and It builds leadership skills. For adults This is a great way to learn self defense and gain health benefits such as strength, stamina and mental focus. I recommend this school for adults, children and more importantly FAMILIES!
