I spoke with someone and started my service on August 12, 2024. They gave me the amount needed to restart pickup. This is supposed to be around $5/week. I paid the amount and received a toter after calling 7 days later and asking for one. Pickup finally started on Monday, August 26th. I received a bill in the mail on September 28, 2024 (attached) that stated I owed more money, and that the due date is in November. My trash was out on Sunday, September 29th for pickup on Monday. It was never picked up, so I called on Tuesday and asked if my pickup date changed. She stated that I was on suspension due to the lady who started my service giving me the wrong amount. I let her know I had just paid a little over a month ago, and she said that oddly, that was never recorded in the book. (Is that my fault?) She said they'd come take my toter back if I didn't pay the entire bill today. I'm confused as to how this is even legal? I'll gladly burn my trash if that's what I need to do, but I'm not letting them keep the money I paid for a month of pickup (that's $20 worth). I'm not sure who they're trying to kid here, but I don't owe them anything today. Now, I have a full trashcan and nowhere to put my trash.

I live in ***********, IN. Our trash pick-up has been contracted into our water bills. Nearly a year and a half ago D&D took over our trash pick-up. We had the option to get a second trash can which we figured would be best. Over a year later they came at us saying that they had to charge us for the second can we already had. This was in November. We paid $100 for the can and nothing was said till this month and they claimed now they had to charge an extra $10 to dump the second can. I had talked with the town official who handled the contract and he reached out to the owner. I was told that D&D should not have charged us for the trash can or the pick-up. Today, I talked with a grumpy woman who wanted to argue her case and the conclusion is that trash at my location will be limited to just one can. The drivers never get out of their trucks they have an arm that does it all. I have seen complaints about this company and their practice the last year come up in post. I do not know the change, but her argument is that people take advantage of them. I kind of look at past practice even with a contract that we have always had two cans and the trash pick up every week except for this year they will not pick-up on holidays and if the holiday falls on our trash day than the trash goes without being picked up till our next trash day.

This morning ****** called and told me they were coming to retrieve their trash can and they would not be reimbursing us for the trash can. Our town has a contract that they supply each address with a trash can, however, they delivered an extra trashcan to everyone who wanted an extra trashcan so they can have it. D&D decided after having two cans they wanted to charge everyone who had extra cans. The problem with that is at first the cans were going to be $60.00 and then a couple of weeks later they decided they wanted to charge $100.00. This was in November of 2023 in January they decided that they would charge anyone with an extra can will pay an extra $10.00 a month.

****** started the phone conversation this morning with since you went to the BBB we are coming to get our can.

I performed deeper research into D&D and I found that the town of *********** residents only pay $11.00 a month for their trash collection. I searched and found that most other communities pay on average $23.00 a month. I was willing to go to the town board meaning to encourage the town for an increase in D&D trash.

I went to D&D's company website and I began to read what they offer to their customers. I found that the charge we pay is the same as all of their customers. D&D also claims that they will pick up weekly up to six 33-gallon bags of trash. They provide *********** customers with a large trash can that can only hold 3 -4  33 gallon trash bags. This is clearly less then D&D claims they will pick-up. Actually D&D's promise to customers on their own service is miss quoted and false claim. DoD should provide the extra trash cans or have trash collectors get out of the truck an pick up the remaining trash bags that D&D promises to pick up weekly.
