    We contracted CurbMan (owner *************************** , manager *********************) to repair things at home after a pipe broke: drywall, dry ceilings, paint new/damaged drywall/ceilings, baseboards, reinstall floor and tub tiles in master bath and shower door and wall.We signed contracts with CurbMan, for all the drywall and ceiling work ($10500) and the tub/shower ($3000). he tub had water-resistant drywall around it originally, creating a box-like in which the tub sits. We agreed **************** would first finish the drywall / dry ceiling fixes, then do the tub/shower/tiles, and will pay half upfront before each project starts, and half at the end.We paid upfront $5250 the half for drywall / ceiling job. Mr. **** began. ***************** managed it. The tub/shower project began before the first project ended. **************** and ***************** did not discuss it with us. We asked what is going on, and he said, do not worry and give me only $1000 of the tub / shower project now. We went along.Things were going okay until **************** stopped activity. He did not say why. We suspect he tried to ******* us and install the tub without installing dry wall around it; we found out, told him about it, and he stopped activity.Our home is mess. There are still unfixed holes in dry ceilings, unpainted drywall and dry ceiling painting strips high above, light fixtures removed for painting not returned, waste, baseboard gaps, etc.**************** demanded full pay despite not finishing the work. He threatens to put a lien on our home for the sum $13500 - $6250. He demands we pay a plumber he brought as his worker (we have no contract with him). We sent him pictures and a video of the situation, and estimate the things he did not finish at $1900, and sent him a check. He said he returns the check and tomorrow, Monday 9/`11/2023, will put a lien on hour home for the difference. We ask for your help

    Business Response

    Date: 10/16/2023

    Hello,

    This situation came about from these events.

    I went to the clients house and looked at the damage and gave him a bid.

    After a month or two, he accepted.

    I asked him if the plumbing that caused the initial problem had been fixed. He said it had.

    I then set about replacing the drywall that had been tore out. I then painted the drywall that was installed. I also put the trim back on.

    He then wanted me to repair the frame and tile work around the tub. We agreed to a price and got stated.

    When it came time to reattach the tub I decided to use a plumber as I am not a plumber.

    Took a week, but the plumber finally got out and took a look. He was there for 30 minutes and realized something wasnt right. He ascertained that the piping that the drain for the tub was connected to was still broken or not repaired.

    The plumber had to tear out a lot of our work to replace/fix the pipe.

    I let the client know I couldnt pay for the plumbing work even though I was going to pay for the tub drain connection. And, that I needed the check for the work that I completed.

    That is when he went off the rails.

    I am out another lien on his house today for the payment of the plumber. $1,200.00.

    Sincerely,

    ********************;
