I do not have exact dates. On October 25, 2019, I put down $547.50 as a deposit toward an entertainment contract for DJ services for my wedding. Photos of our copy of the contract have been attached. The contract states that an act of God is a circumstance which negates the deposit being Non-Refundable.

We contacted All About You DJ between 2019 and 2020 and asked for a refund due to our wedding being unable to be held by law due to COVID-19. They indicated that they would give us a refund. They stated that this would be presented to us on a prepaid card.

I do not know the date I picked up the card. However, I have the physical card with me. Upon picking up the card, I directly asked the employee attending the desk if this was a VISA gift card that could be used anywhere. He answered that yes, it was. My husband and I did not attempt to use the card for some time, and we found that it was unusable. At that time, we determined this was a Square gift card and assumed that it could only be used with Square vendors. Between 2021 - 2022, we attempted to use it with a Square vendor (as these are few and far between), and it was not accepted.

At this time, we called All About You DJ and reported the issue to them. We let them know that we were told it was a VISA gift card and that we expected a full refund rather than a credit. We were essentially told "Too bad".

We attempted to contact them regarding this issue several times over the years, and we are always told "The manager is out of the office and will call you back". Of all the times we have called, we spoke with this person a single time.

We would like to be fully refunded our deposit due to COVID-19 making gatherings of that size impossible at the time. This is what we thought we were receiving, but we were lied to, and it took quite a long amount of time to discover / resolve due to the communication issues.

I have left a review on multiple sites, which All About You DJ has taken down.
