      Since moving into our new home in November of 2024 every bill has had a past due balance on it. We have paid this past due balance a couple months and then it just kept showing up on the bill. We started calling and were told not to pay the past due amount every month by employees because they said we didn’t owe that money. The online bill never matches what is sent in the mail and every month there is a past due balance that we are told we don’t owe and have paid this balance multiple times in the beginning before we started questioning the charge. I have heard from friends and family they have done this to them as well. Now I’m getting ready to pay an almost $200 bill for late payment fees and everything else that has piled up because this business doesn’t know how to operate. My bill should be $24 but instead yet again for another month we are getting ripped off by this company. It’s sad when you have to get an attorney to fight a company that should have their business in order and not be out to rip people off. Make sure you keep all your previous bills and have documentation of the payments you have made.

Our investigation revealed that a late payment fee of $4.60 was applied to your account. The remaining balance pertains solely to gas consumption. We confirm that your most recent payment, made on June 6, 2025, has brought your account up to date. As a gesture of goodwill, we will waive the $4.60 late fee, leaving only the current bill due. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

      For starters there should have never been late fees! Our bill has been paid on time every month since we opened an account with you! We have been told multiple times that we paid more on our bills than we should have because you were charging us past due amount of $60 some dollars every month that we would pay and have to call and argue with you your company and our due date would be pushed back so you could “investigate”. Your company owed us money but judging from your terrible reviews I will have to fight to get that. Do better!

      Centerpoint likes to give themselves yearly raises while increasing our bills. Yet they can't keep our power on. Sense Centerpoint took over my power is out several times a month. Always limbs and trees because they have poor maintenance practices or the companies they hire to do it are not doing it good. It should be criminal at this point, take, take, take but never give.

      If I could give anything less than 1 star I would. This company has a monopoly over ********** Indianas electric service and that need to come to an end! We have some of the nations highest electric and gas bills for zero reason! People are struggling to pay their bills due to their constant high prices and fees and they just raised our bills again! how has no one else stepped in and put a stop to this? We dont have an option who we go with for this service, its either Centerpoint or we live like cavemen. Something has to change. 0/10 this company is the worst.

      IF I COULD GIVE CENTER POINT A NEGATIVE 5 I WOULD. We’ve been out since Sunday at 7:30 (from the ice storm). Had a a recommended time of restoration of 11:45pm that night. We’re now at Thursday with no powers and since then they have sent us multiple emails stating “you’ve bee restored” when we haven’t. And everytime they do that they unreport the outage as if it’s fixed so no one ever come out to fix it! This is INSANE! The absolute worst company ever. I trust **** ******** more than them. Someone. Needs to do something about this monopolized ****** company now.

If you receive a notification that your electric service was restored but you’re still without power, you may be included in a “nested outage.” This means our systems indicate power was restored to equipment serving your area, but your home may be impacted by a more localized issue such as a damaged line fuse, transformer or possibly a tree on the customer-owned service line that runs directly to your home. We’re not aware of all nested outages and appreciate you letting us know if your power is still out so we can assess and make repairs, if necessary.

      Your Gas Technicians arrived in a timely manner and saved the day as our gas valve had malfunctioned and we were without heat in this ice/snow disaster currently in Newburgh Indiana. They quickly repaired the gas meter/valve and we were saved ! Thank you so much for the quick response, professional, caring Technicians .

      Would give a zero if I could have been fighting with them for months to have gas turned on finally get someone that says it's the company's fault I should have had service months ago and finally have a start up date and they call and hang up on one ring on hold 2 hours finally get someone that states oh you didn't answer so you will have to reschedule so gotta take another day off work for this crap but are they paying the wages I'm missing at work no and when I call the people speak little to no English center point energy is the worse company the Evansville and surrounding area has ever had to deal with Vectren would be a blessing at this point but yet no one has the guts to stand up to them mainly because we can't they will just not connect our service or shut if off and when they are wrong and you finally get someone to say so they will do all they can to avoid you

      CenterPoint Energy and I made a payment arrangement, called the one-ninth payment.
      I paid the deposit for the payment arrangement, then received the first bill and paid the full amount for March 2024. April had come and gone and it is now May 2024 I have not received the bill for April, instead I got a disconnection notice. Here it is May 10, 2024. CENTER POINTS REPRESENTATIVE came to my house and GAVE me a disconnection yellow tag with 334.63 I paid over that balance. I called them this morning to get my services reconnected due to the information that was provided to me. They refused to honor their commitment. Now I still to this day have no hot water. Vectren is NOT a good company to get services from if all my utilities could be electric I would!.

If at any time you do not receive a bill or bill notification, you can contact Customer Service to obtain a copy of your bill or you can view your bill online. We show your 1/9th payment arrangement broke in April due to no payment was received. A letter was sent when the arrangement was first established that advised that if the terms were not met of the arrangement, a broken arrangement may lead to the service being disconnected at any time and the full balance, reconnection fee and deposit would be required to restore service. The monthly billing statements provide the same information. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Customer Service at 1-************.
