I previously filed a complaint against this company but I cannot get into that complaint anymore to update on the new information I have. Previously, I had asked for a refund of $3,000 because of the issues I was having with RamTec Industries. After that, I ended up having even more plumbing and heating/air issues requiring me to pay another company $8-10,000 to redo all the plumbing RamTec had installed and another $1,500 to another company to fix the heating and air issues that were caused by RamTec. I reached out to the owners through text and a manager named ****** contacted me. He said that he was told they were in negotiations with me over the amounts. They offered to refund me $1,500 total for all the stuff I had to have redone. I told them no. Since trying to work with this company, I have had nothing but problems with my house. I have had all my savings depleted because of paying RamTec and then having to pay other people to fix their problems. I filed a complaint with the Attorney General who advised that I needed to file a civil complaint if I was going to get any kind of refund from them. I know that the State Police of Indiana have also filed a complaint against this company and I have talked to the case worker several times. He is who suggested I reach out to the AG and also suggested I file another BBB complaint. Something needs to be done about this company. The amount of money that I have lost because of this company should not have happened. If they were a reputable company, they would have made good with this issue a long time ago. If needed, I can provide all copies of invoices from the plumbing company and the heating/air to fix their problems. I can also provide screen shots of the texts between me and all the employees/owners regarding their lack of working with me.Initial Complaint

On 5/20/21 they were given a check for $4500.00 and came in to install support beams in my basement because my wall was cracked. The crack was a single straight crack running the length of the wall. They installed five beams and told us it would take about a year for the cracked to close. The crack got progressively worse. The wood floor joist started to crack and the wood bracing they had installed to hold their beams started to slip out of place. I contacted them multiple times to come back out. Finally, someone returned my call and came out and said yes the system has failed. We will install a different system. They did not have enough supplies to replace all the beam supports. They said they would order them and get back out to replace them once the order came in. This never happened. The wall continued to get worse. I continued to get more cracks. I contacted them again. I sent them pictures. They came out looked and said yeah it's failing. Yeah it's getting worse. We need to talk to a structural engineer. They never got back with me. I have been trying to contact them multiple times and they won't respond. I paid them for what they did and they caused more damage to my house than I originally had. The job they did was supposed to have a 75-year warranty as well. So all of this should be covered under the warranty but they are not even contacting me or returning my calls, text or social media messages to come and fix the issue. I have not made the complaint until now because I was trying to be understanding that supplies were hard to get due to covid and there was delays but it has been 3 years at this point and no communication recently. My husband and I hired Ramtec Industries to take out a door in our living room and make it just a straight wall, to build us a pantry in our kitchen and to remove an old ironing board closet in our kitchen. The owner insisted that if we pay for the projects up front we would get a discount because they could buy material in bulk. The total cost was $3,500. We have paid them in full. We hired Ramtec approximately a month and a half ago and they are still not done with the three projects I outlined above. They rarely answer our phone calls/texts and when they do they make up some excuse as to why they have not been back and that they will get someone back soon. No one ever comes back. We have taken our concerns to the owner and GM and no problem has still been resolved. In addition, their quality of work is terrible. We have had several complaints about the work they have done and not only can we not get them to finish the projects we cannot get them to finish to our standards. I have looked through numerous google reviews and a lot of people have the same issues that we have. When they were building our pantry in the kitchen they severely messed up the trim on our door frame and when he brought it to the managers attention he brushed it off with "accidents sometimes happen." They have no intention on fixing it. They also left a large nail sticking straight out of the bottom of the pantry that my 17-month-old daughter almost cut herself on. At this point we are not sure what to do. We cannot get them to finish the projects that we paid for and we are NOT happy with the quality of the work. There are so many other things about this company that I could go on and on. I also worry about others who might have to encounter these same problems which is what prompted my husband and I to write this statement.

We completely disagree with this. We have responded and answered every call and to date we someone scheduled to fix things that were not in the original agreement. We are happy to provide a copy of the contract and pictures of the job as well as text messages from the customer.Customer Answer

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I completely disagree. At the end of the day my husband and I know exactly how we were treated by this company and the experience we had. Also, everyone else who has had the same experience as us knows the truth. I hope that my story can serve to help someone else in the future.Initial Complaint

Hired Ramtec Industries through Mr **** *******, whom I was introduced to at ***** Lumber Co. while looking at deck railing material. On September 9th, 2022 I wrote Ramtec a check for $3000 to purchase vinyl deck railing material at ****** I was told it would take 2 to 4 weeks to get the material. Meanwhile I removed the old wood deck rail myself.
After 4 weeks I stopped by ***** Lumber to check on the order and was told it was never placed. I called Mr ******* and he said he needed to come back out and measure with one of his employees and he said he would get things ordered.
I texted **** on Friday Nov 4th and told him we needed to rethink the order. He texted me that he would get back with me by by Tuesday the Nov 8th. I didn't hear from him so on Nov 9th I texted him to cancel the order and I would like my deposit returned.
He replied that would be no problenm and he would notify the office.
On Nov 18th I texted that I hadn,t heard from his office and to call if there was a problem. Again, he replied that he had notified the office for the refund.
On Tuesday Nov 29th I texted that notifying the office had failed and I needed my deposit by the end of the week. He replied he would handle it.
He texted me he had received a cancer diagnosis and he was dealing with it.
On Saturday Dec 3rd, he texted that he would drop off my deposit the next week.
On Friday Dec 9th, I again asked for my deposit. He texted me that he and his wife were the owners and due to his diagnosis they had been unable to write me a check, but it was going to get handled.
I have now researched **** and his business and realize I am probably the latest in one of his many scams. I did not use good research practices when hiring Ramtec since I had met him at ***** Lumber and they had done business with him. I now will proceed in trying to retrieve my deposit in every other way possible.Business Response

We have been in communication for getting the deposit returned. We have answered and or responded to every question or inquiry. We have explained multiple times that the person who handles that has cancer. The money will be returned.
