This occurred 6/13/2023 The interaction felt very much like a bait and switch scheme. Three workers came out and had many plans on how the venting out the unfinished basement would work. They then noted this was more complex situation and they must call the owner. They facetimed the owner and the owner decided the best route was to tear up the finished part of the basement. Of course this route was going to be added expenses. The owner forwarded photos of a previous job completed in a finished area. The work appeared very sloppy. I stated to the owner I would need to think on this new route as this was not what was shared in the quote. The owner then stared if I didnt allow the work to be completed that day he would charge me $250. I stated then my business with his company was over. He hungup and his coworkers then stated they were uncomfortable with the $250 charge. This house is over a million dollar house. I just dont think this small company is equipped or has the business ethics to know how to deal with higher end property. I have shared this with my realitor who stated this wasn't the first setup hes heard of this. Beware of poor craftsmanship and business ethics from this company!

Pure Air Environmental (PA) installed a radon system on 09/22/2022. PAs lack of preparation and unprofessional work resulted in far too much ceiling drywall cut out with extremely careless / sloppy edges (causing excess damage to the customers finished basement) and a pipe that isnt vertical (noticeably unaesthetic). See picture attached. The cause is prior to drilling a hole in the floor PA didnt use a stud finder to see if there is a floor joist above the ceiling drywall that would impact the verticality of the pipe. PAs service director came out on 11/01, admitted fault, and said these blunders had already been discussed with the installer. The customer expected PA to repair the ceiling drywall and either straighten the pipe or box (i.e. drywall) it in. PA claims a contractor quoted $800 to repair the ceiling drywall and box in the pipe. PAs best offer has been for the customer to pay $250 toward the repair. Since this was 100% caused by PA, the customer didnt accept and stood firm on PA covering 100%. After several e-mails, phone calls, and texts with PA owners over the past few months and in order to resolve this dispute outside of court, on 12/12 the customer proposed PA sending a check for $550 (the same amount PA claims they were going to pay a contractor) to go toward the customer hiring the repair work to be done professionally; PA responded saying they will not provide any money. PA owners have not only refused to take full accountability for their companys mistakes but have also provided the worst customer service the customer can recall ever receiving, including several examples of very rude comments and exaggerations / lies. The customer would have shared more details / examples if there wasnt a character limit but would be more than happy to share with the BBB all e-mails and texts exchanged with owners of PA. The customer would like to avoid settling this dispute in court but unfortunately may be forced to do so. Thank you.
