    On August 30,2023 we contracted with *****************, DBA All-Weather Exteriors, **** to replace the roof on our home located at ***************************************************** The estimate was for 16,948.00.The estimate specified IKO shingles and IKO materials required for installation. **************** crew showed up on September 13, 2023 with a four man crew and began removing shingles from the top center section of our home. During the removal of the shingles, many defects were observed in the roof decking. I asked his installer "***" about replacing the bad decking, and he stated he did not have the tools he needed with him. I did not want the new shingles installed over the defective decking so I removed the bad areas and installed new decking myself. The roof crew did not have a shingle buggy, but instead created huge piles of debris in my front yard. I worked for a total of 16 hours picking up debris and placing it in the dumpster. On September 14, day two, three guys showed up and began tearing shingles off the east side of our home. Again, many bad areas in the decking were found and I replaced what I could given the crew was getting angry with me because they felt i was slowing them down. They did not remove all of the old tar paper from approximately 50% of the decking on the east side of the house. As we were having ice and water membrane installed over the entire roof, I asked why they were leaving some of the tar paper and was told by one of them that is how they always do it. The manufacturer installation instructions of the membrane specifically states that the old roofing be removed down to the deck before adhering the membrane. Other bad installation issues were they failed to remove the backing from around the perimeter of the top section of the roof and the metal was installed incorrectly along the east side of the house. ***************** refused to have his crew correct any of the installation defects and was asked to leave my property when he attempted to physically assault me.
