On or around 12-24-22 of last year I purchased 2 gift cards for massages for my son and his girlfriend for Christmas. I went to this place because it never seems busy which I thought would be more convenient. My son didn't appear to want to use them so I bought them back from him so I could use them. Win-win! On 5-26-23 I walked into Ethreal Massage and a woman named "Mi" as best as I could understand pointed me to a room. I wanted to explain I had a gift card 1st. She looked at it and said "no good!" I was like YES it is good and I have 2 of them. I told her I paid for them already and their employee signed it. She insisted calling her boss, they spoke in a foreign language which made me defenseless. I asked to speak in English, they said no. She then said she's accept it after pretty much saying the card was a fraud. I relented, went in the room, she didn't tell me what to do so I just sat there. 10 minutes later she walks back in pointing to my gift card saying "you tip me 1st!" I said "I'm not tipping you 1st before the service is provided! No one does this. I intended to tip but not 1st. INSANE. We argued about this and I said I've had enough. I started to put my shirt back on and she grabbed my arm and said "No, no you sit down I give you massage." I said "no, how can this possibly be relaxing now." I said because of the accusation/harassment of my card not being real and he mistreatment of me all I wanted was to get my money back which is $140.00 cash. That's what I paid. I am currently looking for the receipt but their signature is on the gift card indicating I have an hour massage, 2 gift cards = $140.00. This place is shady, very little to no English and very rude. Harassment level rude. I called the police but they recommended contacting the BBB. If there's any way to please give this case to ************ would appreciate it. I spoke with her on the phone and explained all this. Also, the woman ** pointed to the phone # on the wall to call. I did, The owner answered in English but as soon as I explained she said "No English!" It was an unbelievable experience and it's all on their security camera inside their place. I told the girl this is all on camera and I'm turning it over to the BBB. I would really appreciate the BBB helping me get my $ back, that's all I want. This place is horrible. To be honest I don't even think it's legit. Open for speculation. Thank you for your help.

    Business Response

She apologizes for the language miscommunication, but she is more than willing to reimburse him the amount he paid for the two gift cards. I think it's $140, according to the complaint. All he needs to do is bring the two gift certificates in and she will fully reimburse him for what he paid for.

     Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. However, I would accept cash only as that is what I paid them.  And because of the language barrier, how do I avoid more difficulties when I go in? I simply want my cash back of $140 as she has offered.
    Thank you,

    Thank you.
