    I agreed to an estimate, to have a half basement remodeled, to include a replacement stair case in early April 2025. I was assured all work would be complete within 2 weeks, possibly a 3rd week to remedy any issues we could possibly encounter. Demolition of old stair system went ok, although they created so much dust debris by not covering anything upstairs. I had to hire a cleaning crew twice, to rid of dust which settled thoughout the ******** basement remodel began, it was soon obvious the bussiness was ill prepared. Various workers would show up every other day, then be gone. At best, all the members of the crew worked, at best four hrs , 3 days a week. For over a month, I patiently and politely expressed my concern for shoddy work. Various projects would get started, but not even one was completed. - stairs too steep - existing door was supposed to be replaced, instead it was refurbished and even now is inoperable. - constant debris left both in the basement floor, and outside on the lawn. The bussiness said they wanted some of the lumber for reuse, and it sat outside for over two months. I personally had to remove all of it, since had not been protected by the elements. - Consistently, whom ever was working would arrive at around 1030 am, and leave by 3 pm at best. - This crew; to include the owner had no sense of craftsmanship, care, urgency or truthfulness. I was constantly told by the owner that he acknowledged my inefficient findings, and would dedicate hours towards catching up, and providing completion on a reputable construction project.None of this ever happened. I was out of state the month of May, therefore we paused work. I had a service agreement signed by contractor on what needed to be completed by mid June. This week, the contractor showed for 3 hrs on Tues., and 4 hrs on Wendsday. As usual, he said he and his worker had to leave for the day. I received a text last night stating contractor needed more time. Subsequently he quit.
