I purchased a recumbent style bike from Chain Reaction Bike Shop of ****** as it was displayed at recent swap meet in ********** for $450. The salesman said I could get my money back within a month if not satisfied... something to that effect. I tested it for all of a block in a crowded parking lot there, then about a mile+ back home and realized it wasn't going to work for me. I took it back and they are refusing to give me a refund and even said that they are considering the bike as an extra donation to them. No way. Please help on this. Here's the letter I sent:4-12-23 Chain Reaction Bike Shop Goshen Dear Folks,You have seen on your shop floor by now from over the weekend that I returned the recumbent bike that was sold after the briefest of a crowded parking lot test ride at the St ************* Park swap meet in ********** on March 26th*. Upon getting the bike home and taking it on an all-of ~1 mile true test ride, I found that the perceived benefits of (and selling point)of this style bike were not up to my expectations... much to my surprise.Based on my conversation with your salesman/board member at the meet (and to be expected, per regular business practices), I duly brought the bike back to you within the month mentioned in **********... coming back in less than 2 weeks. Of the $450 selling price, $380 was paid in cash and $70 was paid by personal check (with ID duly rendered). If you have not yet had a chance to cash the check yet, and, to give some out-of-town support to your store's mission, I can consider a refund back from you for the $380 cash and either the return of the check (if still uncashed), or, you keep the $70 as a mitigating factor for the not-quite 2 week time period that the bike was off your sales floor.Thank you, and continued good luck with your overall mission.Sincerely,******************************* *******************************************************************************************************************************************
