******* (farm owner) and I went into a verbal contract on 12/19/23 regarding boarding my horse, *****. ******* agreed to feed *****, clean her stall, provide constant access to clean water, monitor her health, provide safe conditions, and turn her out to pasture unless it was inclement weather. The first night by horse arrived I wrote him a check for first month's board which was $550. ******* said the farrier was coming the next day so I gave him an additional $130 (cost of farrier per *******). The next day, when I asked, he said the farrier did not do my horses feet. He said the farrier would come back two days later. Two days later I asked again and he once again told me ***** did not get her feet done. ******* then went out of town for over a week. When I arrived to check on ***** the one gal working at the barn said she didn't know anything about my horse, didn't even know it was a new boarded horse and said she had not been outside at all. *****'s water bucket was bone dry and she seemed stressed. I reached out to ******* with my concerns and he said he would tell the barn manager to call me. I never got a call. Two days later I came back out and another girl working said the same thing that ***** had not been out and there was no combination regarding *****'s care or needs. At this point my mare had swollen back legs from standing in a stall for 7 days and had lost a substantial amount of weight from stress. Needless to say I got my horse out of there asap. ******* proceeded to insult me and lie to me telling me he would pay me back the money from the farrier but not any board. I tried to compromise and ask for one week of board back and the farrier money. He insulted me and my horse numerous times. He then told me he would give me back the farrier money and not another cent. He asked for my Venmo which I provided him over a week ago. He has not sent the money and now will not message me back.
