I brought my healthy cat to U Dirty Dawg on October 6th for grooming, and he died on December 2nd at nine years old. He was injured at the groomer (**** on his back and limping), so I took him to the associating vet clinic (**************************) a few days later on October 23rd. U Dirty Dawg offered to pay for Petes examination after they injured him but did not pay for any medications, x-rays, bloodwork, or the second appointment for examination on November 8th when Petes health was declining further. ************** saw him twice between then and November 8th but said it was probably arthritis causing him to limp and recommended ********** and Metacam for medications along with some herbal supplements from Amazon. She also stated that his blood work came back great but upon request and review after his death, his blood work indicated infection. The most alarming number that I saw on his bloodwork was the neutrophils at ******. The paperwork stated in parentheses (HIGH), but ************** or the technologist wrote in his notes that it was due to stress/excitement of the appointment. A normal range for neutrophils is 2,500-8,500, and while this number can increase due to stress, it is often the result of stress in the body due to infection. His platelet count was also 50 (LOW) as a normal range in *******. Low platelet counts can lead to hemorrhaging, which would explain the blood streaming from ***** nose when I found him deceased. His white blood cell count was definitely on the higher end of the normal range at ****. I am not a doctor, but these numbers would have caught my attention just given my background knowledge of blood work and infection. When I noticed his back toe nail beds were black and saw a nail falling off on November 24th, I tried to schedule an appointment with **************************. Unable to schedule with ************** for six more days, I sought help elsewhere. THE REST OF MY TESTIMONY IS UPLOADED BELOW: "**** Overview".
