My car a 2012 Range ***** was sent to this garage by the car dealer ************* Auto LLC. Absolute Motors mechanic checked the car and filed with warranty company Alpha Warranty which was the company who held the warranty on my car. Alpha **************** agreed to pay for the repair of the **** Absolute sent Alpha Warranty invoice over and over again for the repairs to be paid for. Alpha Warranty requested that Absolute send in an invoice signed by me and that would be the only way the payment would be released. On 10/19/2023 Alpha received a signed invoice but it was not my signature. Absolute submitted a forged document to get paid on a claim that has not been signed off by me.

      Business Response

      Date: 10/23/2023

On 8/28/2023 We were contacted by ************* Auto to do repairs on a 2012 **** ***** ***** ***** Evoque. Shortly after the vehicle arrived at our facility, we were contacted by the owner of the vehicle *********************************. She brought ** a **** ***** Technical Bulletin from probably off the internet that was dated April 8, 2015. (see attachment). She also purchased an aftermarket fuel pump regulator, which we advised her would not be good for a Luxury vehicle as such. We explained that Luxury vehicles like ***** *****s would require original parts. After reviewing the diagnosis that was conducted on 08/7/2023 prior to us receiving the vehicle (see attachment), and conducting our physical inspection, we knew the vehicle needed an engine. We explained it to ********************** and she authorized us to use her warranty and repair her vehicle. During the entire process, ********************** visited our facility several times inquiring about a completion date. We informed her we were waiting on a response from her warranty company (see email attachment). Once the warranty company approved the claim, they were only willing to pay $5000. The engine alone was $4725 (see invoice attachment). We explained to ********************** that the parts and labor for this type of vehicle would be $7077.42 (See attached invoice). She agreed to pay the difference and the repairs were completed. Now all of a sudden we get a complaint from the BBB saying the customer didn't authorize the work, which is an untrue statement from the customer. We do not know anything about someone signing her signature. In our opinion, ********************** filed the complaint because she was dishonest with us regarding paying the difference for her repairs. The vehicle is still on our facility and has not been picked up by the customer. We have nothing to do with her dispute where she purchased her vehicle. We will eventually file a mechanic's lien against the vehicle to recoup our losses from dealing with this customer if the vehicle is not picked up soon.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 10/23/2023

I am rejecting this response because:attached. Letting me know that the mechanic put a claim in to repair the car. No one has reached out to tell me anything at this point. I am in the dark. This prompted me to reach out to the dealer with no avail and then to the mechanic now called ****. **** the mechanic says he will reach out to the dealer then get back to me. He doesnt reach back out until September 14th to tell me he will be putting an engine in the car and will call me when its done. I will owe him **** more dollars for the labor and the dealer would pay all ,but **** and that would be the amount I would have to pay. I was very upset and agreed to this because I really needed my car. **** said he would contact me in a few days when the car was finished.
***** warranty company began to call me on 2 occasions saying that they had received invoices for the work from Absolute, but would not pay them without my signature. ***** told me my car was ready to be picked up.
I called Absolute to find out if the car was finished and was told the car isnt finished but to sign the invoice. I refused and was told the car will be done soon so just wait.
September 28th I received a call from **** that the car was ready, but it still needed another part and I was responsible for it. The part was called a High pressure fuel pump and cost over 632 at the Land ***** dealer. **** informed me that he would put the part on for ****** and I would be all set. So, I would only have to pay **** to pick up the car plus the part.
Reluctantly I purchased the part and brought it to the mechanic ****. **** informed me the part didnt work. I purchased this part 4 times. After buying the part the car is still not running right. Now the mechanic wants me to pay the **** and take the car. Even though the car is still not running and can not be driven. **** the mechanic still doesn't know whats wrong with the car. The car is still at Absolute and is not running. I don't have a issue to pay the partial payment for repairs completed, but the car is not running right. And because of that the mechanic signed or someone from Absolute forged my signature on a document to fraudulently get paid. This is my issue with Absolute and all this after having me pay another 620 for a part that I didn't need that I purchased 2 times and the mechanic didn't know what he was doing. Hence why I brought in a diagnostic from the company I purchased the part from whom purchased the part from ***** *****. I am not trying to avoid paying the **** dollars that was ask of me. I just want my car fixed and someone to explain how my signature got on a document that I didn't sign.

In the customer's latest response, she reiterated exactly what we said in our initial response. In her own words she admits that she authorized the work to be done. In her own response, she also admit that she agreed to pay $1200 for the labor and she was informed that the dealership where she bought the vehicle from were paying the remainder $877.42 for labor. The customer also admitted that she didn't buy the part (High Pressure Fuel Pump) from the ***** ***** Dealership like we had advised her to do. She stated in her last response that she purchased the part from a company who purchased it from ***** *****, which makes no sense. She also admitted that we informed her that she needs the original part. If the customer don't want to buy the original part as advised by us, that has absolutely nothing to do with the work we already performed. Our position stands, the vehicle is ready for pickup. The customer states in her complaint that she wants to know how her signature was on a form and want an explanation from us. We do not have a form with her signature on it, so we have no idea what she is talking about. In our opinion she is trying to get out of paying for work that she admitted herself she authorized us to do. Please resolve this frivolous complaint because we have did everything we told her we would do.
