This is not a legitimate complaint. This bidder has no right to perceived loss of profits. They did not follow the required terms and conditions that they agreed to when registering to bid in an auction. Please dismiss this complaint.

******** ******* participated in our 8/1/2024 auction of the **** ******* ******************* Session II. Upon registering to bid with us, buyers agree to our terms and conditions, which include that any invoice over $5,000.00 will require confirmed funds. Confirmed funds include personal check, cashier's check, or ACH/bank transfer. Our auction invoices are invoiced through Invaluable, an online payment system provided via our auction hosting service, that allows for online payments in accordance with our set auction payment terms. This means that the payment processor provided will not allow buyers to pay any invoice over $5,000.00 with a credit card online.

Upon receipt of the invoice, ******* somehow accessed a very old payment link on our direct website, *********************************, and paid via credit card despite our terms. Subsequently, we reached out and let them know that our terms do require confirmed funds to make the purchase due to their invoice totaling $5,397.52, and while we are unsure how they were able to access the old link on our website to bypass the provided payment terminal and pay for their items with a credit card, we were willing to accept that payment as long as they could provide proper identification and verify that the items were indeed paid for with a card belonging to *******.

******* then became irate and aggressive with multiple members of our staff, refusing to provide identification. We gave ******* a deadline to provide identification and explained that failure to do so would result in our refunding of the payment and the cancellation of the invoice. We also explained to the buyer once more that when registering to bid with us, they are agreeing to adhere to our terms and condition of sale, which include our right to cancel a sale/invoice at any time.

We were not provided with verification of the buyer's identity within our given deadline, so ******* was refunded their full payment and their invoice was cancelled on 8/12/2024. We again explained our terms to the buyer and informed the buyer that they were no longer allowed to bid or purchase with ****** Auctions due to a failure to verify their identity as well as adhere to the terms agreed upon when registering to bid.

******* did provide verification of their identity after the given deadline, but their invoice had long been cancelled and their payment had been refunded. Payment of an invoice is expected within 10 business days post-sale and after much communication back and forth with the buyer arguing against our terms, we did not receive verification of their identity until nearly 20 days post-sale.

Please let me know if you need any additional information from us.

    Happy new year!

    Kind regards,

    ******
