We hired ******** to clean our home in Nov 2023. She came once a month. In Feb 2024, she texted me saying that our master bathroom mirrors were hard to clean and her worker (*****) used a little heavier towel and it scratched up the mirror. She claims it was only the left, but when returning home, both mirrors were scratched. We had her clean an extra room that day which would normally cost $25, but she told us to not pay for that to help make up for this. After going back and forth we agreed on $75 check or to receive a free extra cleaning service. We felt this agreement was generous due to us having the original mirror purchases price from the 2016 remodel ($75 a piece from ******, which isn't even including inflation) and asked for $100 but she came back with $75 and we agreed. We continued to use her services and I asked about using the free service in Jun 2024 which she said it just depends. Unfortunately we had to cancel our **** cleaning last minute due to house sickness. She notified me that less than 24 hours is usually a $30 fee but since it is a first time she would waive it. I said we would be happy to pay it but with the outstanding balance I did not send money. We rescheduled our **** 2024 cleaning and I texted her saying to NOT clean the master bathroom mirrors. Coming home I noticed they had been cleaned and were even worse and my husband noticed our glass shower being scratched very badly. After this we paused cleaning services with her. She came to our house to look at scratches and confirmed they were bad. We asked her to file a claim with her insurance (Hiscox). She did, but we received a note from a third party (********) in August 2024 that the insurance was not going to cover the damage. We then got a quote from the original glass shower company (Northside Glass) in Sep 2024 for $3,142 to replace the shower (original cost in 2016 was $2,000) and shared that with her. We have since texted her multiple times and not received a response.

I feel as if this is an unfair complaint. The mirrors were fog free and we were not told about how if we used certain clothes it would ruin the mirrors. She admitted they had not known this about the mirrors and didnt relay this vital information.  I was trying to be fair by agreeing to compensate in fear of losing them as clients, which was a mistake because shortly after the shower doors were scratched up. I interviewed the cleaner that was on that house, and she used what protocol she was trained to use. Lysol shower spray and a blue non scratch scotch pad. We do not keep anything in our caddys that will scratch showers as we clean 100s of showers a month. We have never had this issues in the 6 years we have been in business. However, since the mirror incident, I felt as if they were trying to get more for free. The scratches were deep and looked intentional. Like someone took a razor and went down the glass. I told my insurance company this and that is why the claim was denied. I told them the truth. I feel like this complaint could hurt my business and I dont feel as if its right at all. I was told by my insurance company to not contact them and if they proceeded legally they would represent me given the evidence we had. What leg do I have to stand on here? Its not fair for someone to give my company a bbb complaint when we did nothing wrong.
