Citation Collection Services attempted to collect $129.32 for parking violation. If I didn't comply I would incur further fees or collection attempts. The license plate referenced in the mail is for a non-operational vehicle.

I receive an letter from the Collection Agency for a parking ticket that i was not aware I had. I called them to dispute the claim, I was told to do so online and i did. I haven't heard from them in a month, I called them and the lady told me to email them to drop the citation, so i did. NO email or phone call from them in about a month I called again, I was told to do a second dispute since they claim they did not get the first one, so i did. Again nothing happened, i called again and they email me after stating that i am responsible for the citation. To get it over with i decided to pay until i saw late fee and that was not fair. I called them to see about the late fee and why was i send to collection without being contacted or send a letter prior to pay. I asked for proof of contact prior to be send to collection, she said she does not have it. When i requested the number from the people that hired them to collect i was told they don't have it. All in all nothing was provided to me besides this letter and photo of my car.

My husband received a bill for $85 for a resident park permit violation in the city of *********************** on 9/28/24. We were not in **************. We do not live in **************. We do not drive through **************. We can only assume this is a scam but it is disconcerting because they have our address and car license plate number.

I received a bill on April 1, 2024 from Citation Collection services for $75. It reads to avoid further fees or collection attempts, to pay the unpaid parking citation. It is a ticket from the ****************, ** which reads was issued on 1/13/24 & list date 3/20/24 (which I dont know what list date is referring to) for a NO PARKING AREA. I do not live in ******** but I was there on 1/13/24. I did not see a NO PARKING ************ was not a ticket on my car prior to me driving away. I called & spoke to a representative of the citation collection services on April 3 , telling her that I was unaware of a ticket until I received this letter in the mail on April 1. She stated that since I did not pay the ticket within the last 60 days that the city of Columbia sent me straight to collection services without prior knowledge or warning. She recommended me to go on the website & file a dispute, which I did & to contact City of Columbia parking. I also spoke to someone from city of Columbia parking & she gave me an email to forward my concern, which I did on April 3. I received a response that said once Im sent to collections there isnt anything they can do. Im frustrated that not only was there NOT a ticket on my car, but that I did not receive a follow up warning or bill in the mail from the city of ********. Is this a typical process to go from a ticket straight to collection services? They also responded in the email that on the back of the ticket it reads that this may be your only warning. Well if there wasnt a ticket for me to read, how would I know that? I offered to pay the original amount but they said I have to pay the fee of $75 to collections. This doesnt seem like a fair process. Please, help. They do have a picture of my car with a ticket, but there honestly was NOT a ticket at the time I got to my car. Again, does this warrant for them to send me to collection services without at least 1 warning or bill in the mail? Thank you for your time!
