Today, the store manager at ********************************************************************* refused to allow me to use my business address as the return address for the package I sent (tracking number ************). She told me that whatever address was on my ID was the address she had to use and that she could not manually override the computer and put the return address of my choosing. She told me that if I wanted to put a business address, then I had to have a business account and use my business account. I explained I did not want to use a business account, because I was aware from prior experience that when one uses a business account, the account is not charged until the package arrives, thus causing a several-day delay in the charge, which I would have to be checking my bank account for. She nonetheless was insistent that if I did not send the package using a business account then the return address had to be the address on my ID, even though that is not my business address and I do not want my home address used as the return address.I have sent many packages over the last six-plus years via FedEx, in all of which cases the FedEx representative has allowed me to use my business address, even when I was not using a business account to send the item. I conveyed this to the store manager, and she was very rude and authoritarian, stating that that was not the correct way and she was doing it the right way. Please confirm whether it is FedEx's policy to refuse the CUSTOMER the right to designate his preferred return address and instead force him to choose between using what is on his ID or setting up and using a business account. If that is now FedEx's policy, I may find it necessary to start looking for an alternative shipper, because I want to pay at the time of purchase (not send something with a business account and have to wait for days for the charge) and use the return address for my business. I found this store manager to be very rude and authoritarian.
