I have lived here for two years. I could mention how ridiculous it is to pay rent and all the changes made without telling anyone and the horrendous lack of any repairs, but the biggest issue is of water& power. In the second year, the water has been turned off no less than 2x a month, often for hours at a time during business hours. I am not sure what they expect people who work from home or stay at home parents to do with that. In Jan of 2025, as the above complaints state, the electricity was turned off for 2 consecutive days, 8 hours a piece when the weather was in the negatives. I had to take my child to another house because it was freezing and there was at one point no electricity or water in the same week. The claim was that AES was behind the timing, yet there was nothing in AES accounts talking about this. I find it hard to believe AES couldn't postpone when it was in the negatives. Here is a list of rights we have as tenants, and this breaks at least two of them. **************************************************************************************************** don't need money. I need this to change for the the complex. It is not okay to shut off the water without notice or turn off the electricity for 2 days. I don't understand why that was even allowed to happen in the day and age of work from home jobs. There was absolutely no rent credit for those days either, even though many I have spoken to in the complex could not be in their own homes due to frozen pipes AND no electricity. **************************************************************"Landlords are required to provide and maintain premises that are fit for occupation. This means ensuring rental units comply with applicable building and housing codes relating to health, safety, and maintenance. Landlords must provide proper plumbing, heating, ventilation, electricity, sanitation, and other facilities. "2 Days with no electricity and water seems pretty uninhabitable to me.

This community always turns the water off on residents with little to no warning, now turning the power off in negative degrees weather. They refuse to answer phones or emails and are rarely in the office. Not one maintenance request has been fixed. We were without water for three days last year because they had no maintenance staff.

I am currently renting from Hickory Knoll Community. We have sewage coming up in our pipes and the office is aware. They have not sent anyone out to fix it. We have no water in our HOME. I had contacted the health department and apparently this is a known issue around here.

I have PTSD and suffer from depression and dark depresses me. I was shown 12 pics of a white homesigned the leaseget there and its dark, which is not good for me mentally. Not to mentionit looked NOTHING LIKE THE PICTURES. minutes after I see the place and tell them about it, I asked for something different or my money back. They said that I have to give them MORE money to break the lease for something THAT I DONT WANT. As of now Im homeless and 1/2 of my belongs are in a uhaul, which was to be returned this morning. Not to mention the home was not cleansaid they were coming out to clean the next day? So they wanted me to move my things into a dirty dusty home? I asked for my money orders to be returned to methey say that cant. I need help here ******* already reached out to the news

This resident was in communication with our Sale and Leasing Agent for weeks following up to her move-in. At the time we had a brand new home we were moving into the community and didn't have access to the home to take pictures. It was explained to her that we could show her other homes that had a similar layout and same number of bedrooms but was clearly explained that it wasn't the same home she would be moving into and she said she understood this. We were not told about the issues regarding the dark color homes. The home she was moving into was light gray with light brown cabinets one of our lightest color theme homes. The day of her lease signing, she signed her lease and gave us the remaining amount of her security deposit. At this point we had already processed her move-in and processed her deposit. She came into the office and let us know she didn't like the colors of the home. This was the very last home we had available. I explained to her since the lease was signed we would need to abide by the lease agreement. I reached out to our Regional and we came up with an agreement with this resident that would make her happy. We let her break the lease with no fee and we are returning the full security deposit back to her. She was very happy with this agreement.
