I had my house and garage painted with RhinoShield on 8/11/2023. on 5/23/2025, I noticed peeling and bubbling on the garage, house and deck railing. I sent pictures of the warranty, and paint issues to *******, the point of contact for RhinoShield ******. He is now telling me that because the Denver franchise has changed hands, They no longer will honor the warranty. He said he can supply the material, but I'll have to pay for the labor. I payed ********, because I was buying a good product, with a good warranty. It isn't my fault that their employees didn't install the product properly, and therefore, it's coming off.Business Response

In 2018 Rhino Shield Indianapolis contracted to paint the trim of our house in ********** for $31,579 and our entire house in ***********, ** for $60,237. The chosen color was a medium gray. The current color is a lighter gray with a distinct purple hue. The Rhino Shield warranty does not cover changes in color from normal weathering resulting in fading, darkening, or surface accumulation of dirt or stains.The warranty, however, is silent with respect to a complete change in color due to the inferior paint product that was applied to our houses. For these reasons, I am considering litigating the issue to be reimbursed for a reasonable portion of my costs to repaint these houses with a much more superior product. The people that I dealt with at Rhino Shield, *** ***** and ***** *******, I'm pretty sure have not been affiliated there for some time. In the meantime, I wish to share my experience with Rhino Shield with anyone who is considering using them, especially based on their misleading advertising.Business Response

You are correct in that *** is no longer involved with the Indiana office. I am not sure why this was brought instantly to BBB from my end I have no records of any issues going on. This is something that needs to be addressed at the dealer level then we can work from there. Without not knowing there is a problem with no phone call/email something like that we are in the dark here. You said you were going to replace some wood that you and ****** talked about and then you would let us know so we can get the problem areas taken care of. Until then there is not a lot we can do. This happened multiple times. I never said I would ***lace the boards but it was mention they may need to be ***laced. The *** wanted to get with the production manager because at one time there was an issue with the materials. At this point I am requesting partial reimbursement for what I paid. Im concerned that any ***airs done by rhino shield will be inferior.

In August 2020, Rhino Shield applied the ceramic coating. During the first 5 years, according to their representative at the ******************** and Garden Show 2024, any repairs are covered free of charge. At the Home Show in March, the representative said I would be contacted in two or three weeks but I was not contacted until August 22. *****, the Rhino Shield **** called and then came to my home, assessed the repairs needed, took a coating sample, and said it would be on the schedule the following week for a crew to do the work. No one has contacted me since to schedule the appointment. I talked to ***** on October 23, when he again said he would turn the repair request in. I have left messages with the Rhino Shield office in ****, at least 6 times and one more for *****. No one is returning my calls. I just want the work done that I am entitled to when the weather is warm enough this spring or summer.Business Response

Had Rhinoshield paint our entire house a few years ago. This year is the second time it has started peeling off in at least 3 areas. Called and inspector came out almost 2 months ago. He took photographs & confirmed the issues and stated hed be calling us back with a date to repair, but heard nothing back. My wife has called and left messages, but no response. We were given a 25 year warranty & paid a lot for this, and we are very disappointed in the lack of response or repairs that should be included under their warranty.Business Response

To start I am not sure which number you have been calling. Our office to contact is ************ or call ****** directly at ************. He has called the number on file multiple times in order to confirm about the product left over and to schedule the date for the work to be completed. When he was in the area he left multiple calls with no answer so he stopped to see if anyone was home at that time. ******** was home at that time and showed him the areas then. We signed a contract and gave them $2000.00 for a down payment. They have not been very customer friendly or helpful. We knew we needed some repairs on our siding and *** said that their contractor ****** would come out and give us an estimate on the repairs. They refuse to give us a written estimate and we will not be able to use them on this fact alone. Besides that, their customer service is absolutely rude and condescending. The salesperson ************************* portrayed Rhino Shield as a much different company than the way we are being treated. There is no one to speak to at Rhino Shield that could help us, that I could find. There is nowhere to leave a review on any of their sites either.Business Response

There have been multiple phone calls and emails going back and forth. You were instructed that Rhino Shield does not do wood repair we are the coating installers. With that, ****** was recommended as a contractor that could do ************ and that we encourage other estimates to be given. Upon ******'s estimate you told ****** that you had a friend that would be doing the repairs. At that point ******'s work was done since another contractor would be used. This company continues to come up with their own version of things. We never said that someone else was going to do the work! We said that we wanted to get other estimates to compare with ******'s. But as ***'s email states ****** is not allowed to give us a written estimate. Since this company is so anti-consumer, when we do get the work done, we will probably not even use them. The company does have a very good salesperson which gets people to sign and give a down payment, because she paints a much different organization than what we have been experienceing. But, for the rest of their services we are very skeptical and leery of using them or sending them any business at all. If the company needs our two thousand dollars so be it for now.

Outgoing calls that were made are attached. Unfortunately my call log does not go back as far as the original calls. Also attached are some of the emails I could not attach them all. Nothing in the email says ****** is not allowed to give a detailed quote. He can provide what he deems necessary at the time. At that specific time the number was given verbally and then it was said additional quotes were going to be had. The service he is offering for the wood replacement is a complimentary estimate for becoming a Rhino Shield customer. ********************** does not do wood replacement. If the quote is good then he will provide the services if not, no big deal. Rhino Shield does not care who does the wood replacement as long as the work is done correctly.Customer Answer

I have highlighted the place in the attached email and copied it here in quotations where Rhino Shield states "As far as you wanting something sent in an email, that is not something we recommend them doing if our customer ********************* that the price is to high and are going to get more quotes, because of the fact that we ask ****** to do everything he can to keep the cost down to save our customers as much as possible, his quote could change if it takes longer than 30 days for you to receive those other quotes. Material prices are changing all the time, unfortunately. This is why he gives you a verbal number, and if or when you decide to go with him, he will then send you a contract for those repairs." So now it sounds like Rhino Shield is faulting their sub-contractor! I do not know one person that says yes to a verbal estimate without seeing the break down. How are we supposed to compare their estimates to others if we are not comparing apples to apples. Our other contractors that we have contacted have given us a written estimate. The only way to get this resolved is to get a refund on our down payment, that we paid thinking that this company was reliable, honest, and consumer friendly. That has not been the case here. By Rhino Shield faulting their sub contractor just confirms the fact that we no longer trust Rhino Shield for doing any work for us or anyone else.

I am sure most if not all others will give a full breakdown estimate, and get as many as you need. We do not do wood repair every single day to keep the lights on, we do Rhino Shield. When it came to Rhino you got a full break down of everything to be done. If you didn't like ******'s quote that's fine get as many others as you like. Rhino Shield has once again denied any wrongdoing and just care about making a dime instead of making sure the consumer is happy. Rhino Shield employee is the one that would not let their sub-contractor send us the estimate. The sub-contractor only gave us an estimate because Rhino Shield told him too. It became Rhino Shield's fault when they told the sub-contractor not to give us a written estimate. We do fully understand that Rhino Shield only does Rhino Shield weather the consumers siding is good or bad, they really do not care. The salesperson for Rhino Shield stated she thought the repairs would be around five thousand dollars, after she looked at all the siding. So, when the verbal estimate was ten thousand dollars, we decided to get other estimates. Rhino Shield's employees' mis represented everything about the company. It looks like our next decision is to get our attorney involved or live with ****** learned and Rhino Shield gets to keep our two thousand dollars. Since, Rhino Shield has nowhere to leave a review, good or bad, even on social media, we hope that other consumers look deeply into the company before signing and giving money to them.We would like to thank BBB for trying to help us with this matter.

Paid $14,000.00 for paint job with 25 yr warranty the end of June 2022. The paint started peeling and bubbling 2 weeks later. Have called and called, the paint is still not fixed. Always get the same run around and excuses. Called and talked to *** today, got same excuses and i told him I was tired of hearing it and he hung up on me. They did call July 31st and said they would be out next day but I had other things going on. They did not ask when a good time for me would be and haven't heard from them since. Yes you were hung up on when you were yelling and would not stop. We tried scheduling this service multiple times and no time has been good for you. You were told since the time isnt right for you and you have to be there in order for us to fix the issues to call us and let us know when. Until we receive a call with the day/time you're available our hands are tied.
