-Date of Work - 9.7.23 -Amount Paid - $4,145 via check (#****) on 9.8.23 -The business committed to properly installing a full yard irrigation system that functions properly -The nature of the dispute is that the full irrigation system was not installed properly, including failure to install enough zones (6 instead of 9), pit boxes (1 instead of 3), backflow device (water gushed out for 8 hours and flooded the entire side of my house because hose was not connected) and burying all lines the required 8-12" as most are buried 1/2". -I reached out repeatedly via phone and text from Sept. 8 to Oct. 26, 2023 to owner ************************* and his daughter ****** and nothing has been resolved and have not received communication to date. -I asked **** repeatedly if he had a licensed plumber on staff and he said YES every single time. He DOES NOT have a licensed plumber on staff. I had to hire a plumber (Always ***************** to come out on Oct. 30, 2023 to inspect the front yard well and backflow preventer and make adjustments to Green Lawn's work done by a non-licensed plumber.-**** cut the power line from my front yard light, causing the light and the outlets in the garage to not work -The system was not installed correctly and we were never able to use it since installation. We have hired a different company to pull everything out and reinstall a brand new irrigation system.

    Business Response

    Date: 05/02/2024

In response to ******,s complaint:  My first comment is, this system was installed properly, I have been in business for almost 30 years and installed 1000s of systems and each one has been done properly.  Irrigation systems have no regulations or codes, so every installer may do them in different ways, and just because she found someone to say there needs to 6 zones and 3 valve boxes is just nothing other than an another companies opinion.  Secondly: for ****** to say she had no communications from ******** or myself is just a down right lie.  We were in contact with ****** many times.  Yes, a couple of unfortunate issues happened during Kellies install. First,  the lines being shallow was only in a couple parts of her yard and she was told of this.  The day we installed it had been very dry and her yard was extremely hard, so much to the point that I was worried about my machine and I even told her that I didnt think we could continue, but ****** cried, actual tears and begged me to continue, even though I informed her there would be shallow parts to the system.  Again, there are actually no regulations or laws on how deep an irrigation line needs to , if they are  under the sod so you dont cut them with a mower it is not going to affect the function of your system. We do strive for 6-8 inch depth but again ****** was told there would be shallow spots. Addressing her backflow issue, yes, a part was not clamped down properly just a honest mistake, and did cause a leak.  When informed of it I went out there at 11 pm in the middle of the night to make sure that issue was addressed, and quickly fixed there after.  Her electrical line that was hit was a private line (yard lamp) that 811 does not *****  ****** was told and signed our paperwork that she understood that any private lines must be marked as I dont  have the ability to know where things are at under the ground.  I mean that whole idea is just a little crazy in my eyes, but although we are not responsible at that point according to our signed contract we still worked to get it fixed for her.  All this time there was communication going on, not the silence that ****** claims happened. At the end of the season we had both come to the realization that this relationship was just not going to work as ******* reaction to situations were completely out of control.  So in the end she decided she no longer wanted us working on her system and we agreed.  Im guessing she found one  of our competitors  to bad mouth us and stick up for her, but really in all truthfulness there was always communication until she  decided to end it and move on.  I am sorry that things have evolved to this point, but ****** received everything that she was supposed to at a fair price, and I will not be issuing a refund or plan on working with her anymore at this point as she is beyond reason.

    Customer Answer

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

First and foremost, everything I have stated is true and factual, supported by photos and text messages provided during the initial complaint. The level of dishonesty in the response message from ************************* is astonishing and quite frankly disrespectful.

The system that **** installed was inspected by Warweg & ******** **** in April 2025 and deemed installed improperly and inoperable. As such, I paid a deposit this week to have the entire system removed and replaced.

**** was communicative up to the point of when the system wasn't working properly and once I realized the lines were not buried deep enough. **** stopped replying to my text and phone messages on September 22, 2023. ****** finally replied via text on October 18, *************************************************************** my initial complaint, I uploaded a screen shot of unanswered text messages and I even called **** on April 29, 2024 at 2:37 p.m. and he never answered or returned my call. As you can see in the text message, I did ask for the lines to be buried deeper, which I was told would be done and was not completed. I also uploaded a photo of an unburied cable near the pit box. The lines are buried 1/2 to 1 inch in the majority of the yard as determined and verified by 3 separate lawn service/irrigation companies in fall 2023.

On the day of the install, the chain fell off of ****'s machine several times and he complained about the yard being too difficult. No one shed tears or begged anyone that day, these statements are false. If **** couldn't do a proper install, he should have stopped and communicated this to me, which he did not. There are a zillion irrigation companies and I would have found another one to do the job properly.

With regard to the power, there were no private lines installed and the yard in that area was marked properly. Again, ****'s reply is false.

Any respectable irrigation company will tell you that the lines do need to be buried 8-12 inches, especially if you aerate as I ****** communicated to ****.

As you can see in this video, **** has a habit and reputation of terrible installs, products, communication and placing blame on everyone except for himself for his poor performance. *******************************************************************************************************************************************

************************* owes me a full refund of $4,145 as the system is not operable.

    Regards,

    *************************

    Business Response

    In response to ******:

I will also say ****** is not telling the truth.  We see things differently, as there are always two sides to the story.

I can tell you I have three additional  witness to back me up with what really happened on the job site.

I can tell you I have installed 1000s of systems over my lifetime with 1000s of happy customers with glowing referrals.

I can  tell you I have been in business since 1997 and will continue to be so in the future, operating a legitimate and fair company with a BBB rating of A-.

Is any of this name calling from ****** going to give her happiness?  I hope so, because Ive never meant to do anything other than make ****** happy, but I do now feel ****** is a very difficult customer to deal with and I wish her the best. But I do stand by my first comment that any contractor will come in and bad mouth a competitor, and then get money from that person.

In the end we will never agree on this and I owe ****** nothing.

    Sincerely,

    *************************

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

For this BBB complaint, I have provided actual facts (photos, text messages, dates, times, etc.) with regard to this dispute and ************************* has not provided any facts, nor has he accepted any accountability. The bottom line is that the system was not installed properly (disconnected lines, lines not buried deep enough and leaking lines and sprinkler heads) and was never operable or in use in 2023. ****'s witnesses, who were his employees (one named ****), actually got into an argument at my property on the day of install (which I witnessed) as **** accused another one of ****'s employee's of sabotaging his work, which lead to gushing water later that night from a disconnected hose amongst other on-going issues that have never been resolved.

I've had 2 companies at my home to inspect the system that ************************* installed in 2023 and both have indicated that the system was not installed properly and does not work properly. As such, it will be taken out this month and replaced.

I am requesting a refund from ************************* in the amount of $4,145.

    Regards,

    *************************
