My experience with this company has caused me significant financial and emotional distress. In August 2023, I relocated from *********, **, to pursue a graduate degree at *****************. I signed a lease with *****************, trusting the company's representations. The exterior was littered with trash, unkempt grass, and broken glass, while the interior carpets reeked of mildew and urinea situation the leasing consultant acknowledged but dismissed.Despite these issues, I felt compelled to honor the lease. I encountered further problems, including unhoused individuals and cigarette smoke from a downstairs neighbor, resulting in $2,000 worth of damages to my belongings. My complaints were ignored by the leasing ********* December, a personal tragedy forced me to withdraw from the university and return to *********. I approached *****************, hoping for empathy and a solution. Subleasing wasnt an option, leaving me no choice but to terminate my lease through a buyout on January 12, 2024, costing $3,009.99 plus my final months rent.Shortly after, I was notified prospective tenants would view my apartment, even though I was no longer in *******. Additionally, I was hit with a $399.56 electric bill, which I couldnt afford. My requests for assistance went unanswered, and the bill went to collections, damaging my credit. On August 8, 2024, I posted a review. ***************** responded publicly, falsely claiming they offered me options to sublease or terminate without additional chargesoptions I had suggested but were ************ an effort to resolve this, I reached out to ***************** again on August 22, leaving voicemails, but received no response. I believe I was taken advantage of by a predatory company that showed no empathy or concern for me as a tenant. I seek a direct response from *****************, removal of their false public statements, and compensation for the damages and emotional distress caused by this ordeal.

    Hello,
I looked back through your account with us. You requested to be let out of your lease for personal reasons we did so and showed your unit at your request. All showings send an automatic 48 hr notice . You decided to do a standard release from the unit which we did with you instead. We are a company that understands when something happens personally and you are not able to fulfill the contract you entered into. We offer two options when that occurs. We can show and rent the unit for you so you dont have to pay anything additional or we can do a standard releasing fee to let you completely out of the lease. Some companies offer nothing and you are required to pay off the entire lease. We do not do that and try to help . Sounds like you just wanted to be released from your contract with no repercussions at all. We are not predatory in any way and did all we could to help you which in return left you without having to pay the lease off and with your account in good standing with us. We are a small locally owned business that tries very hard to pay attn to and take into consideration our tenants needs. Unfortunately, we are not always able to make everyone happy even though we try to.

This leasing group has, multiple times, logged maintenance requests as completed and not followed up. The main issue at the moment is a safety issue with regard to pests. Over a week ago on August 18, CNC Leasing was notified that there was a bat that had to physically removed by the tenants that had entered the home through a hole in the closet. Maintenance informed the tenants that a proper sweep of the attic would be completed and bat deterrent placed within the attic. They also informed tenants that any holes in the floor, ceiling, or walls would be patched immediately. However, none of these important measure has occurred. There is audible evidence that there are still bats in the home. A few days after this incident, tenants made a report about a large animal in the downstairs ceiling. Maintenance responded by placing a small trap that would not hold the animal. They stated they would return, each day, to see if the trap had caught anything, as the trap cannot be accessed by the tenants. Maintenance has not returned. *** has been lacking in communication and follow through since the start of the lease in April, but the issues with the pests are of upmost importance as they pose a safety risk for the 2 people and 2 small dogs in the home.
