    On January 3, 2025 I took a garment (a skirt) that needed the zipper repaired. At that point I paid ahead for the alteration and they said they would have it ready in two weeks. A month later, I reached out to and asked them when it would be finished. They did not respond for about a month and said they would start on it that week which was in March. They told me that they would contact me when it was ready and meet me somewhere because they have closed their shop in the meantime and they have given no information as to where they are now located. I have been messaging them since March 2025 with no response. The number listed on their website does not work. I cannot even go to their shop as they have closed the old one and will not disclose their new location. At this point, I would just like me money and garment back and would settle for just the garment back. My Ticket number is ****** and the item is a black and white skirt that needed a zipper replaced.

    paid $62 for two item to have new zippers replaced and the placed closed and will not return my calls. I would like to have my two items back and be reimbursed my $62

    The business moved not closed, we are still working on customers items, we have posted that our number is not working at the moment and we cant get calls or see messages. every customer that brought items in are aware we do not do refunds for any reason. I will contact this customer and let him know where he can contact us. and where his items stand. all customer orders are done in the order recieved.

    They have all also been notified they can reach us by email. he has not emailed.

    I have used this business before to alter clothing, and on October 25, 2024, I dropped off a pair of pants to be shortened. I pre-paid, as is the practice with this business. I was told it should be a few weeks. I had not heard anything as of November and attempted to call the business. I could not get through to anyone. I tried to text, and I reached out again in mid-December. I was finally able to reach someone via ******** messenger, and they told me they would get to my pants right away. It's now February, and I still cannot get through to anyone. I've tried calling and texting. My husband went to the business, and he saw a sign saying the business is closed because they are working on existing orders.

    Hello,

    This business finally responded to a text today by calling me. They refused to give me a refund, citing store policy and signs, and told me they had items dating back to August in response to my complaint that they had my pants since October. They were rude and unremorseful, and gave me a choice to let them alter my pants (with no estimated date for completion) or for me to retrieve them. I retrieved the pants. I am out $20, but most of all, I think this is a terrible business practice for The Sewing Shop. They are under new ownership and are also called Mommas Sewing Shop.

    This Customer was told at drop off that we running behind (4.5) weeks at that time, she was offered a rush fee of $10 to recieve her pants within a weeks time, she didnt want that. We have up to ************************************** even ********************************************************************** three different places we do not do refunds. She Was told we could get them done the last time we had contact and she could get them that day. She refused. So we gave her husband her pants when he came to the shop. And On the front door it does state we are closed and working to get caught up and will call each customer to come pick up.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined the response would not resolve my complaint.  I am unsatisfied, in part, because it was more than 4-5 weeks since drop off, and the business owner could still not provide a timeline for completion. My husband dropped off my pants to be shortened by 1 inch on October 25. I contacted the business in November and then December. On February 6, I still had not heard, so my husband went to the business to retrieve my pants. When I heard from the owner in December, she apologized and told me she would find my pants and then get the job done. This never happened. Ultimately, it's not about the refund. It's about poor business practices and the fact that this business is promising 4-5 weeks and then keeping items for more than 3 months!

    I went to have 4 clothing items repaired on September 21, 2024 expecting the items to be completed within 2 and a half weeks like it had said on the white board behind the counter. I've tried calling them, but it goes right to voicemail saying they're closed to catch up on orders. It's been nearly 5 months and I want my items completed or returned for a refund.

    We have been in the process of moving our location, Everyone we have been able to reach has been notified. We will ******************* order complete and call  him to pick up with the new locations address at the first part of next week, due to we are still unpacking from the move. It was also posted on the board all dates are tentative due to the amount of customers we serve, Also every customer is offered to pay a rush fee which allows them to recieve their items within a week. He chose not to.  If we have a weeks worth of customers paying a rush fee to get their items sooner, it pushes the ones that chose not to pay a rush fee,  as they said the didnt need them anytime soon, we also ask them if they have a need by date if so we make sure they get done by that date.

    I took three pairs of leggings and one shirt to get altered. I wanted the leggings to be tapered and the shirt to be made smaller. When I went there originally I was told that this owner would be able to do that almost 3 weeks later I go to pick up my items and none of the leggings are tapered they were hemmed, which is not what I asked for. additionally, one of the hens that she had done was crooked, and she had done a hem on one of the leggings that was supposed to have a raw hem. I asked her to fix both of them and the owner agreed .The shirt was also still too big so I asked her to fix that. She did not touch/alter the third pair of leggings, despite charging alterations for three pairs of leggings in addition to the shirt. I go back to pick up the items and another two-ish weeks right before I have to get on a trip so I am not able to check out the items I say hey if it doesnt fit, can I come back and I am told yes come back if it doesnt fit. Once I return from my trip, I try on the clothes. I see that the top still doesnt fit, and that the hem on the leggings is still crooked and the other pair the hem was not undone but cut off, making it much shorter. I go back to the store to ask her to fix the hem since it is uneven and done poorly. I am immediately yelled at and told that she will not be doing more work for me for free and she had already done it twice I was being nitpicky. I tried to calmly explain that he was not even and I was repeatedly denied and told I was absurd. I also told her that I wish she had just told me that she couldnt taper the leggings Instead of just doing something I didnt ask for. A second employee joined in to berate me. I tried one last time to explain that the hem was uneven and was told to leave. I have never been treated so poorly by a seamstress in my life. This whole issue could have been avoided if the owner was up front about her abilities and told me that she couldnt do what I asked.

    The customer came in to my shop asking for alterations, she had a summer top that needed takin in at the sides which had to be done twice, the second time it fit her perfect, when she got fitted for her items she had requested that we do a taper down the sides of the legs, I explained to her we can not taper the legs due to the type of material it is, the items were leggins which is a stretchy type of fabric, if we were to taper them it would cause severe bunching. than she requested hemming the leggins, which we did twice due to her not liking the first complettion . she than picks up her items refuses to try them on. then comes in a month later wanting a refund claiming that the hemming was done incorrectly. After wearing them at that point threads had broken due to being over stretching, I explained that its been a month we redid her items twice and i was not willing to do them again, for free. she kept arguing and disrupting my employees work schedule. she was asked to leave the shop. we do not give refunds when the items have been removed from the shop and then a complaint a month later.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. 

    The business owner is not telling the truth. When I first went to get my items altered, I was told that she would be able to taper them. She did not tell me that she couldnt taper them until I went to go pick them up. Instead of doing what I asked or calling and telling me that she was not able to taper the leggings, she went ahead and hemmed them. She did a hem on a pair of leggings which I had requested to be left with a raw hem and she poorly hemmed another pair. The hems done were not well done. They were crocked and stitches were missing. I dont believe she even touched the third pair of leggings, despite charging me. I tried on the top and felt that it was still too large as the sleeves kept slipping off. I asked her if she would be able to make the fixes and she agreed. I went to pick up the items roughly two weeks later. I was not able to try the items on in the store since i was traveling and in a rush to make my flight. I asked the employee if I would be able to come back if the items didnt fix and was told that i would. I was out of town for a week and returned to the store the week after i returned, because the top was still loose (it fit worse than it did before) and the hem she had done was still bad. It was not straight and stitches were missing. At no point did i ask for a refund. I was immediately berated and shut down by the owner. I never even got the chance to tell her that the top didnt fit. I was yelled at and called names. I have never been treated so poorly in my life. I did not get what I paid for. I paid to have three leggings tapered and one shirt altered. None of the leggings were tapered. One was left untouched, despite her still charging me and the other two pairs are unwearable. The top also still does not fit. I was willing to give the owner another chance to fix the items but after the way I was treated, I would like a refund.
