My vehicle was towed in the early morning on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 2:45am per the ************** ****************** I was going to get it That same day but by the time I had gotten everything else taken care of I decided to wait till Saturday, the following day since I had to run to the ***************** to get the paperwork/card for the tow company since **** had put a hold on my vehicle. Once I had gotten to the Towing Company I had to call the number that they had listed for after hours (It was Saturday and they're closed on Saturday and Sunday) and the guy that I spoke to said that he'd have someone there in about 45 minutes and told me that the bill was $345, but the guy who showed up and I dealt with charged me $365 and it was cash only which when you look them up it says the accept credit cards but they said cash only. ************** has put a cap on what the towing companies can charge people due to price gauging, but it was only for vehicles that were towed from **************. According to **************, ********* current (July 23, 2023) Code of Ordinances Sec. 38-256(a) States that Maximum Towing Fee-No Special Equipment $85.00, My vehicle didn't need anything extra to be towed. Sec. 38-256(a) Maximum Fee Tow Service Charge For Arrival On Scene In Response to Request by Police $35.00, Sec 38-256(b) Maximum Fee To Retrieve Vehicle At Night /After Hour From Tow Service $45.00, Sec 38-256(c) Daily Maximum Fee for Tow Service to Store Vehicle (which by law can't tow companies can't start charging you a storage fee until exactly 24 hours after they tow it. So I figured I would have to pay around $200 or just a little more but not much but I was completely WRONG! I was charged $125 for towing, $5 for mileage, $65 for administration fee ($65 just to write the ticket up?) $45 for some additional fees which I'm not sure what that is but this company did not use nor need to use anything special to tow my truck because I watched the guy hook it up. $60 for storage, and $65 for after hour fee. CRAZY! SOMETHING NEEDS DONE
