Went there to have our schnauzer ***** euthanized. We were taken to a room and waited for the vet, Steve H****** to come in. We tried to calm *****, who was having bad anxiety. When H****** and an assistant came in, he was loud and boisterous, scaring ***** and causing him more anxiety. The only thing he said to us was, “Didn’t I x-ray this dog’s leg?” He then reached down, shaved the hair off *****’s arm, the assistant grabbed ***** around the neck, and H****** pulled out a syringe. I said, “So that’s a sedative, right?” He said, “No, this is it.” I told him to wait because we wanted to hold him (I didn’t want the last person ***** would see to be a stranger). He said, “You can hold his legs, but she’s going to hold him.” I said that when we had our first dog put to sleep there they put in a cathedrae, and I was able to hold her. He said, “I’m pretty good at finding a vein”. I said, “I’m sure you are.” He said he does it that way so he doesn't have to take the dog away, which is ridiculous…it was obvious he was just in a hurry. He planned to run in, jab my dog, and then run out. They agreed to insert a cathedrae and left the room with *****. H****** was loud and uncaring; he's an uncompassionate bully, who was irritated that someone would question him. When they came back with *****, they sat him on the table, and H****** said, “Are you ready now?” I said yes, and the second H****** started, ***** screamed in agony. He should have given ***** a sedative, but he just kept going. Within seconds ***** was gone; his last minute on earth screaming out in pain, looking at me...someone who would have NEVER hurt him. H****** said, “Sorry ‘bout that, not sure why that happened.” Then he walked out the door and we never saw him again. He did nothing to make a sad situation better. No words of comfort, no attempt to make *****’s transition peaceful, no condolences, NOTHING. He’s a callous brute. We were all in shock; crying our eyes out at how he treated our beloved *****.
