  ********* colleague were hired to clear clogged sewer ****************** at our property after we were not able to do so with just simple rodding using a rental auger/plumbers snake. Even though, I explained to them that we used an auger on the main line removing the toilet all the way to the city sewer line, of course they did NOT believe me and rodded it again. The toilet opened up for 3 days & now still does not work properly. As to the bathtub, they were not bale to clear the blockage, perhaps because they did not even have a thin enough auger. At the end, they charged me 30% more than they quoted & said they will come back to do more work. I cancelled that 2nd appointment. My impressions is that a woman with a foreign accent could not have any knowledge about sewers or any other home repairs/maintenance topics :)T.K.S., **********

  I called Downing Plumbing on November 3, 2023 and made an appointment for the following day for someone to come out and check on a leak that I was having in my basement that was coming from the bathroom up stairs. A guy came out and assessed the situation and pinpointed what the issue was. I needed to replace the entire faucet set and bring the piping up to code. He didnt have all of the material and therefore had to set up another day that he could do the work. He stated that someone would call me on Monday,November 6th to let me know what time he would be coming back. The worker came at approximately 11:00 am on Monday and started the work. Upon completion of the job, for Whatever reason, this person wanted to mention to me about picking cotton. Anyone of African American decent would know that he was making reference to how we, as black people during slavery, was forced to pick cotton in the fields from day break to sunset. I looked at him in utter amazement because I realize in retrospect that my mind was trying to process what he had actually said to me. He stated to me and I quote I bet you didnt know I was old enough to know about that. To be perfectly honest, I thought he was old enough to know about slavery because he looked at least ten to fifteen years older than me. I still didnt say anything. My position has always been to simply ignore ignorance and stupidity. When he made it to my front door, he then made the comment that he hasnt seen any crack heads on my street. I guess because I didnt respond to his picking cotton statement, he needed to say something else. He also stated that he wont even come to the area that I live in without his gun. I definitely became afraid and wanted him out of my home. I just wanted to say, consumers, do your research and know who youre letting in your homes. The one time I didnt check a company out on the BBB website is the time I encountered an idiot. BE AWARE When someone goes low, you go high.
