      I had a liver biopsy done at the hospital on May 10, ****************************************** which I was a subject. The hospital mistakenly submitted charges for the procedure to my insurance company, causing a series of invoices, ********, requests for payment, copayment, etc., that are inaccurate. The procedure was funded and paid for my a third party, not my insurance. I have requested correction five times since May, but bills keep arriving.

       I am rejecting this response because I have personally requested a correction of the billing error five times in the past 2 months, all to no avail. The mistake is theirs, starting with having first submitted a claim to my insurance company even after I told them that I was a part of a research study. 

      Moreover, I have indicated waiving my privacy rights here so their automated, impersonal response is unacceptable. Were they interested in resolving the matter, they would have contacted me. Very unprofessional for a ******** hospital and a big disappointment.

      I had a Echocardiogram at St. Joseph Hospital (aka ******* ******* on April 20, 2022 to monitor my heart because I receive infusions of Herceptin. I received an estimate of $2,191.59 both before the procedure and on day of the procedure and paid for it in full. On April 23, I received a bill for an additional $717.71. I made numerous calls to the billing company, ******* ****** and the hospital. I even went to the hospital in person, but they said that there was no one there that could help me. So I filed a complaint with the No Surprises Act website on June 8, 2022. On July 7, a determination was made in my favor that I would owe no additional money to ******* ******, and they should reimburse me for the $25 fee that I paid when I filed the complaint. (See following document.) I thought that would be the end of it, but, despite continued calls and follow-**** the bill was turned over to collections. I received a bill from *********** a debt collector in August. I contacted *********** explaining the situation. I also filed another complaint with the NoSurprises Act and the Consumer ************************** but I guess I am going to have to pay the additional money, even though the No Surprises Act said that I wouldn't. It seems strange that the hospital can just ignore the laws passed by Congress.

       I am rejecting this response because:
      It dodges the complaint, the issue, and the law.  Does or does not St. Joseph Regional Medical Center have to abide by the No Surprises Act?  I have called and discussed this many times with the billing department to no avail.
