I contracted Avanti ***************** to provide a 20 passenger party bus on August 6, 2022, for my daughters Sweet 15 celebration. The charge was $1,440.00, which was paid on $480.00 deposit and the remainder the day of the service. Upon arrival of the bus at my home, I could see that the doors were not easily opened by the driver. When he finally did open the door, the bus was dingy and it was extremely hot inside. I assumed the air had not fully kicked in. Although it was a hot day outside, the bus didn't have a properly working air conditioner. The driver said that he had no control over this as he was "just the driver". I called ***, who I had made the reservation with and he said he would try to resolve the issue. However, after repeated calls in the 15 minutes after the incident, he would not answer my phone calls. When I finally got him on the line, he was extremely rude. I asked for a full refund as I could not put a group of children on a hot bus for the hours that I had the reservation. He was hesitant to refund my money stating that the air was working properly. After letting him know that my daughter was in tears at this point since her day was ruined, he refunded only $1240 of my money. I am still owed a remaining balance of $200, which he refuses to refund because "he had to pay his driver and cover the gas". None of those issues are my problem. As a company, he should fully reimburse me for the mechanical failure of the bus. Please assist if possible.
