      I bought a truck in December of 2021 and my business started to go under because of Covid. I found myself in a situation where I wasnt able to make the payments for a month or two. I was looking for a job, and because the SBA ran out of money for businesses before it got to mine, I used up all of my checking and credit cards trying to save my business. . . I at first called and talked with **** ***** and let her know what was going on and that I had just gotten a job for $20 an hour. Which she said she didnt think $20 an hour was enough to pay for my truck and would have to surrender it. Which it shouldnt have been any of her concern as to what I had to pay for and didnt. $20 an hour would have made my truck payments just fine. This was my only hope of getting out of the verbally and mentally abusive relationship I was in. I was in the process of moving when the company that crane hires to get vehicles came by and got the truck even though they were explicitly told to stop right after it was hooked up. I have asked if I could have the payments added to the back of the loan and I just start making the payments over again. **** ***** again said no its not possible. I have a job and my truck was the only thing I had to pay for. I ended up having to file for bankruptcy over this to save my vehicle and so far I have heard nothing. I was under the impression that filing for bankruptcy would save my truck. I sent a message to the lawyers for crane and she asked **** If I could just start my payments over again to get the truck back. And she said no. I don't know why she wouldn't want to help someone else out that has the means to pay for it but she doesn't. She's not in a good position to show customers that she cares about them when they are trying to help themselves. I hope she is never in the same position in her life and runs into someone that wont help her either.

      Business Response
      Crane Credit Union has investigated the allegations in ****** *******'s complaint dated October 27, 2022.

      Mr. ******* states in part, that:
      1. He bought a truck in 2021 and his business started failing, so he could not make a payment for a month or two (2);
      2. He called and spoke to **** ***** and told her he had a new job making $20.00 per hour, and she told him she did not think that was enough to make the monthly payment, and he did not think it was her concern to tell him what he could and could not pay;
      3. He asked to have the missed payments moved to the back of the loan and **** ***** told him no;
      4. He asked Crane Credit Union's attorney to ask **** ***** about starting the payment over again, and she said no.

      After researching the allegations and requested remedy in the Complaint, Crane Credit Union (CCU) issues this response:
      1. On November 19, 2021 CCU approved a loan for ****** ******* in the amount of $75,578.77 for a 2021 Chevy Silverado, with monthly payment of $1,050.66 due on the 28th day of each month beginning on December 28, 2021.
      2. Payment was not made on December 28, 2021, and a delinquent notice was mailed on January 3, 2022. Mr. ******* made the December 28th payment on January 8, 2022.
      3. Payment was not made on January 28, 2022, and a delinquent notice was mailed on February 3, 2022. A second delinquent notice was mailed on February 13, 2022. Mr. ******* made the January 28th payment on February 22, 2022.
      4. The next payment on the loan was due February 28, 2022. Mr. ******* has not made any more payments on the loan.
      5. A delinquent notice was mailed on March 6, 2022.
      6. A second delinquent notice was mailed on March 16, 2022.
      7. On March 31, 2022, **** ****** Asset Recovery Manager, emailed Mr. ******* about the February and March payments. Mr. ******* responded that he was working with one of the loan officers for CCU but he could not give her a specific date another payment would be made. He asked if there was any help she could give him. Since she does not have any authority to modify loans, do Skip Pays, or change the loan in any way, she reached out to the loan officer assisting Mr. *******. She discovered that the dealership had offered Mr. ******* a fair market value for trade in for the truck, and advised Mr. ******* of this by email. At that time, she also advised Mr. ******* that he would need to make payments or surrender the truck because the loan was running 2 payments behind. Mr. ******* did not respond.
      8. A third delinquent notice was mailed on April 3, 2022.
      9. On April 26, 2022, Mr. ******* emailed the loan officer, thanking CCU for being patient with his missed payments, but did not make a payment.
      10. On May 2, 2022, a Notice to Cure (pre-repossession letter) was mailed to Mr. ******* as a courtesy advising him to pay the past due amount of $3,151.98 or make firm arrangements for payments by May 16, 2022, or a repossession may be ordered.
      11. On May 12, 2022, Mr. ******* emailed **** and told her he had gotten a job making $15.00 per hour, and asked how to get "this under control again". He stated he knew CCU did not have to allow even 1 missed payment, so he was grateful. **** congratulated him on finding employment, but questioned whether he would be in a financial position to make one full payment with his first check, because the deadline to pay the full delinquent amount, or firm arrangements was May 16, 2022. She suggested to save him repossession costs, he surrender the truck at the nearest CCU branch if he could not guarantee at least 1 full payment. She told him she hoped he would be able to find the funds to save the truck, but if he could not, a repossession would be ordered. Mr. ******* thanked **** and said he would work on bringing the loan current by May 16, 2022.
      12. No payments were made by May 16, 2022 and there was no further communication from Mr. *******. A repossession was ordered on May 17, 2022. The truck was not located, so on September 12, 2022, the repossession company closed the assignment.
      13. On October 11, 2022, the repossession was ordered again. The truck was located and secured the next day. A Notice of Future Sale was mailed to Mr. ******* with a redemption date of October 22, 2022. The loan was $8,405.28 delinquent.
      14. On October 17, 2022 Mr. ******* emailed through the CCU website asking how to redeem the truck. An email was sent to him with the amount needed to redeem.
      15. On October 24, 2022, 2 days after the redemption period had ended, Mr. ******* emailed CCU's attorney asking if the missed payments could be moved to the end of the loan. CCU's attorney forwarded that email to ***** who has no lending authority, so she forwarded the email to Lending. The VP of Lending said this request was not an option, and **** relayed that information to CCU's attorney, who emailed Mr. *******.
      Mr. ******* defaulted on his loan with CCU by failing to make payments per the loan contract. **** attempted to assist Mr. ******* by suggesting he trade in the vehicle for a more affordable vehicle and by allowing him to miss 3 payments before ordering the repossession. Mr. ******* had no contact with CCU from May 2022-October 2022, until after the truck was repossessed, and made no payments during that time period. CCU's attorney has been in contact with Mr. *******'s attorney regarding his bankruptcy filing and the status of the repossessed vehicle.
