To whom it may concern,I first contacted ******************* of ************************************************ on Aug 31, 2021. I sent him pictures of two chairs I wanted reupholstered. He gave me a quote, by text. We went over to meet him and ask some questions about our next steps. We set a date for drop off that put us on schedule. That date was Jan 17, 2022.We returned in Dec to check out fabric. At this time ************************ wasnt there. His son reported that he wasnt feeling well. We checked out fabric books. Two days later we returned the books and ************************ still wasnt working. Before our drop off day, I called, only to find out ************************ had passed away. I asked if Jan 17th was still a good drop off day. Yes thats still good. We dropped off and asked questions about the passing, but was never told the work wouldnt be done. ************* the son of *********************, was in charge and managing the business, now called Metropolitan Custom Upholstery. Our chairs would be up soon for reupholster. We received a call in March that the chairs were done and that he wanted them picked up so he could be paid and for room in the shop.We couldnt lift the chairs, so two workers put them in our van. After checking the chairs at home they were so bad, terrible in fact. We took pictures and went back to the shop and showed him the pictures. He said we should bring them back and well fix them. We returned them a couple of days later, and he made notes and said he would reorder the fabric. We would go over and check and we would be told they are next. He said that he had to fire more people and in Aug 11 he reported he fired everyone and was training a man. Our chairs were next in line. We went back to check on the chairs on Sept 19th and the store was empty and no one was there.
