I brought my vehicle in for inspection and to get fixed. The first time they fixed the issue, I had to come back for another issue a couple days later when they had the part. When I got my vehicle in there the second time, I was told my price would be more due to the part being more and I still allowed them to work on it. I do have all paperwork from what all was done as well. The issue they were initially fixing, wasn't the issue and they missed my hose leaking which leaked onto my alternator and caused my alternator to fail. When I brought it to them seeing what was going on was when they explained this to me and were not remorseful to the fact that they didn't do the job properly. I have spent over half of what the parts are actually worth through Midas and my vehicle isnt even drivable now whereas it was before.

On 09/21/24 we took our car in for an oil change at the Midas at ****************************************. Told a belt was cracked, they could change it same day. Picked up and A/C no longer working. Returned - told "nothing they can do" to make the air conditioner work without 2k worth of parts and labor(!). Spoke with another staff person on Monday. Said if they broke it, they would fix it. Took it to our regular mechanic to diagnose the specific damage-in just a few minutes he confirmed that they broke a piece on our a/c unit. Took it back to Midas the next day. My husband lost 2 hours of work while they looked at something that was already obvious. The manager then questioned what shape the car was in when we brought it in (remember- for an oil change). The Midas staff broke our air conditioner and then tried to charge us for the repair. This is a scam and must be stopped.

On 2/17/2024 I went to the Midas on **************. in ********** *******. For a wheel bearing replacement. I was told it would be $300 for the labor which I agreed upon. They then started working on my vehicle for a half hour, Then they tried to upsell me and tried to tell me my control arm was a little loose and it would be another $500 I knew that was a lie, and I told them no, Im only spending the $300 on the agreed price. They got offended and tried using scare tactics to get me to pay for something that I didnt need. Then another hour and a half goes by and then one employee brings me a perfectly fine lug nut and said they stripped the nut and broke the axel and I needed to pay for that part because if I dont I couldnt drive my vehicle home. They forced me to pay an extra $219 dollars for this part that the mechanic broke. Thats their fault they broke my axel. They never once showed me the axel to prove that it was broken. So I would like to be refunded the $219 dollars that I was forced to pay for what their mechanic broke in the first place. They should be held responsible for breaking the axel. I didnt break, so its not right or fair to have the customer pay for something that they broke.

***************** came in Saturday 02/17/2024 and requested us to install passenger side rear wheel hub for $300.00 labor for customer supplied part when removing the axle nut to remove the wheel hub, the axle nut and axle was ***** and all of the threads on the inside of the nut were gone, and the axle shaft threads were also gone. We showed the customer the nut and explained to him this is nothing we did wrong he didn't have the money for the repair, but this had to be done to finish the wheel hub, so we charged ***************** cost on the right rear cv axle ****** and charged him no addition labor to try and help him out and he authorized this Repair Order Number was ******. The customer is attempting to falsify facts to get free services. We will not be refunding anything.

I am rejecting this response because:

These people are bold face liars and con artists. He showed me a perfectly good nut that wasnt even being close to being stripped. They got mad because I didnt want them replacing my control arm that was perfectly fine. If my axel was that bad to begin with why did they try to upsell me on a control arm to begin with? Why were they even looking at my control arm when their job was to fix a rear wheel bearing? I didnt want this service to begin with! So why would I falsify anything that I didnt even want? Thats when they said my axle nut was stripped and it wasnt! I could have easily put back on myself. These are the worst mechanics Ive ever seen in my life. Refund me or not but I will get everyone I know to leave them horrible ****** reviews so its going to cost them way more than $219 bucks in business. So I hope being con artists is really worth it.

At end of sSeptember my truck was towed to Midas for a broken drive shaft. Meanwhile my truck got broken into on their property which I posted pics of. They took apart my drive shaft without my permission. Rigged it to jump off the battery to start it. They lost my house key. **** one of the Midas employees said on November 7th that he would bring the key to my house when his Tech told him how to unlock the lock box that my truck key was in because I showed up to get stuff out of my truck and they jimmed my doors open. Then on the 8th **** said he gave me my house key on my other set of keys. No I tryed all of my keys now I have to pay 75 dollers for new keys and new locks from my landlord. Today November 9th I showed up to ask about my keys again came to find that my truck again was unlocked outside of their facility and my ignition was changed without my permission. Which I also posted picks of. I can't work if I don't have a vehicle just want them to give me my truck so I can work and pay them.

date of transaction feburary 2023. took ****** rogue into midas for a rear axle. after at least 3 axles they finally fixed it and we picked it up on march 28. after picking it up my wife noticed a low pressure for front tire. we took it too ***** tire and they said treads are all worn out. i said that cant be we just purchased these 4 tires from ***** tire. ***** tire looked it up and said yes you did purchase in january 2022. 4 ********* tires. he then said the problem is you now have 4 bald kumho tires. so our tires have been stolen/swapped out. our only mechanics have been midas. i contacted dw, the manager. he put me on hold and 5 minutes later said that he and corporate had checked the vidoes from cameras and saw nothing. i asked dw how he can you pull video for 5 visits over a 2 month period in 5 minutes and see nothing. then he said i can come to the midas store and look around for my tires. at this point i cant deal with his lies and become heated and he then hung up phone . so our 1 year old tires cost us 800. we have bought new tires we didnt need for 700. so now we dont trust any work this midas has done. we just paid over **** for two cars and i have my doubts the work was done or the parts are used.

9/27/22 We dropped off our vehicle for a brake evaluation on the afternoon of 9/26/22. ******* from Midas called and stated that the pads and rotors on both the front and the rear. This doesn't match the courtesy check paperwork done by the field tech who stated only the front pads and rotors needed replaced. This also matches a report from the 26th from a local **** dealership. This vehicle had been inspected a few months prior by the same Midas shop in hopes that the warrantied pads would be replaced. The evaluation came back that no work needed to be done. We now paid an additional $437.52 for rotors plus applicable taxes that could have been prevented if the pads were replaced at the previous evaluation. ******* stated that the two employees that did the previous evaluation were no longer employed with them and all she could do would be a $30 credit to make it right. This is a very bad business practice to have lifetime warranty on the pads and then state at evaluations that no action is needed to be taken. I am looking to be refunded the cost of the rotors. I fully understand that all labor costs are not associated with any of the implied warranties.

This is our response regarding the complaint from ***************************** regarding our Midas location in **********, ******* on ***********. We warrantied out his front and rear brake pads per what the warranty covers. Rotors are not covered but for only 90 days after initial install. ********************** had his initial work done on 12/29/2020 with ****** miles. He returned on 9/27/2022 (approximately two years later) with ****** miles on the vehicle and it was again in need of brakes both front and rear. Rotors are typically always replaced when new brake pads are put on to avoid any type of vibration or pulsation when braking, especially when theres been in this case, just over ****** miles put on the vehicle and considering the elements that the brakes are exposed to and the wear and tear placed on them. ******* even gave ********************** a $30.00 discount on his service during his visit which technically didnt apply to the work he had done. We are not going to refund or adjust anything further in this matter. We followed protocol and safety standards as we should.

      Regards,

I am rejecting this response because:  We initially returned on 6/3/22 and the vehicle was inspected by a ************** due to the the squealing noise.  The service writer was ****************************  This was courtesy check #*******.  The mileage on the vehicle was 83,913.  This check was a joke as I mentioned at the time we picked up the vehicle as every single item was checked green.  At this stage, new pads could have been put on and the rotors would have been saved.  Midas is an absolute joke of a company and without any resolution through the BBB I will go further to right their wrong.
