      While working there I was able to learn the basics about intellectual disabilities, haphazardly trained on different ways to handle conflict by a possibly intoxicated member of management, help organize a program and create an efficient system which no one wants to do, and attempt to teach my coworkers how to check ***** *****, how properly perform glucometer tests and other important tests to better the health of the client, which they ignored, and sometimes document it in their EMR system. However, as an employee, ***************** does not care about your work-life balance, they do not care or possibly understand about how your personal wellbeing correlates to being able to provide top quality care for the individuals who depend on the direct support professional to help them navigate their lives by helping the individuals with day-to-day personal hygiene and daily tasks as well as teaching emotional self-regulation skills with the help of behavioralists that either were super helpful or you would never meet. They will discriminate against you based on disabilities, pregnancy, and retaliation. That's just a few that I have experienced or witnessed. There is a lot of mistreatment and harassment to both the individuals and any employees that were not favorited by higher management. There's much more to be said about this disgrace of a place, but just please ALWAYS remember to do your research when it comes to looking for intellectual and developmental disability ***** services providers to place your loved one in or when looking for direct care jobs. But, there is indeed a handful of management who didn't let the power get to their heads that are amazing, great employees who truly cared about the individuals, and the bonds you can create when working with the individuals is amazing. But sadly, despite the amazing people you encounter and bond with, the negatives to the job greatly outweigh the positives.
