      On April 28, 2025, I received a formal invitation from Nucor Fastener to attend a final-round on-site interview scheduled for May 9, 2025. Based on their confirmation, I promptly booked the cheapest available flight and accommodation the same day, anticipating reimbursement, as is standard with on-site interviews.However, on April 30, I was informed via email that the interview was being changed to a virtual format, and I was told I could claim reimbursement for the travel expenses already incurred. I acted on that understanding.On May 9, I participated in a panel interview virtually as part of the final round.On May 18, I was informed that I was not moving forward in the interview process.On May 20, I emailed a reimbursement request for my travel expenses.On May 21, I received a response claiming there were no out-of-pocket expenses and that reimbursement was not possible. I immediately replied with a detailed breakdown of the costs (flight and lodging), emphasizing that these were non-refundable and incurred in good ******** of today (May 30), it has been nine days since that reply, and I have not received any further communication. It is unfair for a company to schedule travel, change plans abruptly, and then decline to address the financial consequences for the candidate.I am an international student who came to the **** to pursue a masters degree, and expenses like this have a disproportionate impact on students. Additionally, I will be relocating back to ***** in a couple of months and will not be able to use the flight credits. I am willing to cancel those credits and request the corresponding amount be refunded in original monetary form.I have attached the email chain, flight and hotel receipts, and booking confirmations.Desired Resolution: I am requesting reimbursement of $575.11 for my out-of-pocket travel and lodging expenses, which I incurred solely based on Nucor Fasteners official request for an on-site interview.

      Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the recent complaint filed by ******** *******.


      We regret the miscommunication that occurred between Nucor Fastener and Mr. ******* regarding reimbursement for interview-related travel expenses. It appears there was a misunderstanding: Mr. ******* was awaiting confirmation from us regarding reimbursement, while we were awaiting confirmation from him regarding whether a credit could be obtained for the unused flight and hotel room, as well as confirmation of a valid mailing address for the reimbursement check.


      We routinely bring candidates on-site for interviews throughout the year and, as part of our standard practice, reimburse reasonable travel, lodging, and meal expenses incurred during these trips. Unfortunately,in this instance, the communication gap resulted in an unintentional delay.


      We have since reconnected with Mr. ******** received the necessary information, and are actively processing reimbursement for the full requested amount of $575.11. The check is being sent via *********** and is expected to be delivered within 5 to 7 business days.


      We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and appreciate Mr. ******** patience. We value every candidates time and effort in considering opportunities with our organization, and we are committed to ensuring this type of miscommunication does not happen in the future.
