As a result of getting my oil changed fees totalling an approximate $150 in parts for my car in addition to paying for the oil change, has accrued. On 5/16/2022 I got my oil changed, upon leaving the shop the skid guard on my car was damaged to a not usable state. After substantial correspondence throughout the summer Grease Monkey did furnish a non OEM part to my car that is not to spec, does not fit my car, and does not have any of the needed hardware to install the skid guard. This amazon part, in addition to not fitting like it should was mounted improperly with zip ties and damaged as soon as I drove it out of the shop. Upon returning to the shop, more zip ties was used to secure this not fitting part. While a defense was given to this non fitting part without mounting hardware. This amazon part is also made of a soft plastic, while the original was hard plastic. I do not want to have to rig the skid guard to my car everytime I get under it. I will be getting the part that is supposed to fit my car, I do not want my car rigged with a not fitting part and no mounting hardware in the front. It is a 2012 Voltswagon Passat. Seriously, if a mechanic were to order an alternator and the bolt pattern did line up, Would they zip tie it to make it work, or get a part that fits? I am requesting a part that fits, with the plastic hardware needed to mount it, I am happy to do the install myself.
