Im not quite sure on the exact date, but it was but it was about the end of November. My uncle who was 80 Yrs old asked me to make an appointment for his cat Tilly, for just a routine exam. In which I did with the Valparaiso Animal Hospital, in which that would have been the first time going there.I made the appointment and had to put the deposit of $*****, in order to bring ************* uncle had caught pneumonia and had to be hospitalized, in which he was in the hospital for a week.So I called the Valparaiso Animal Hospital to cancel the appointment and made a new appointment for the following week.It was very unexpectedly that my uncle ended up passing away from the pneumonia.I was his beneficiary, so I had very many things to sort out and plan his funeral. After things settled down, I called the Valparaiso Animal Hospital to let them know my uncle passed away and to cancel Tillys appointment. I then asked them to refund the $***** that they held for which no exam took place. They proceeded to tell me that the only way for them to refund the ***** was to put it back on the credit card that I had used to put the down payment on.Unbeknownst to me was our bank saw the death notice and immediately canceled his card. Now keep in mind I am an owner on my uncles bank account.I called them serval times to ask for the refund of *****.They literally told that they will not give me my money back.I pleaded with them, and the receptionist even asked the owner, because she refused to talk to me, and said Its my money now. I politely said, its not your money, no services were performed, you are not entitled to keep my money.I just want to say, its not about the money to me, its the principle of the matter.I called several more times pleading with them, them that I just lost my uncle in which I was his only family member he had left and was very close to him.No services were performed for *****, they said your not getting your money back.
