During my visit of inquiring about hearing aids, I contacted my ***************** while in the office with the provider and they verified an amount that would cover the cost, I was asked which credit company I would prefer to use for costs the insurance would not cover and was explained that they typically would not cover the return charge amount and this would be an estimated amount, also that the provider would reimburse me the amount the insurance paid, (BIG RED FLAG). The provider should be able to explain exactly what the insurance would cover and what I would be liable for prior to any agreement, according to my insurance I was 100% covered, but the provider failed to explain and honor the contracted discount amount from the insurance and billed me directly the full amount through the credit account. They failed to give full disclosure and I would have never agreed to these terms!I would have given a higher rating if this was not the case!

Thank you for your thoughtful feedback. We're pleased to hear that you had no concerns about the care you received. As a company with over ***** five-star reviews on ******* we value every patient's experience and the trust they place in us.

Your review highlights a widespread challenge in healthcare: the complexity and often confusing nature of insurance coverage, particularly in audiology. This isn't unique to our practice but is a systemic issue affecting patients and providers across the country.

A study in the Journal of the **************** of ********* found that up to 30% of insurance verifications in audiology contain inaccuracies. This sobering statistic underscores the difficulties both patients and providers face when navigating insurance benefits.

We empathize with your frustration about insurance coverage. Like many patients, you took the proactive step of contacting your insurance company directly, which we always encourage. Unfortunately, even this doesn't guarantee clarity, as insurance companies often provide different information to providers than to patients.

Our purchase agreement, with its bold letters and yellow highlighted areas, reflects our commitment to transparency in the face of this uncertainty. We aim to set clear expectations about the unpredictability of insurance payments, a challenge faced by healthcare providers nationwide.

Your experience sheds light on a broader issue in healthcare: the need for more transparent and consistent insurance practices. As providers, we share your desire for a system where coverage is clear and predictable from the outset.

We appreciate you bringing attention to this important issue. Your feedback not only helps us improve but also contributes to the larger conversation about insurance transparency in healthcare. We remain committed to providing excellent care and doing our best to navigate these complex insurance landscapes on behalf of our patients.

Thank you again for your patronage and for taking the time to share your experience. We're here to address any further questions or concerns you may have about your care or billing.

I think it is disgusting that ************ approved a free consultation from my insurance AARP UHC, and as soon as I went in to see her so said " I will not accept any referrals from this insurance company because they do not pay me. Then for 10 minutes all she talked about was going to Indianapolis to see her husband and it would cost me $6000.00 to get hearing aids, but she still charged me a $50.00 fee just to listen to her talk about herself. This was very unprofessional, and I have also made a report to my insurance company about this, and I will give it to many others for an unprofessional experience with her.

Thank you for your feedback and concern your free consultation. While ************ does consistently receive amazing reviews online, we take your perspective seriously and would like to provide some clarity on the concerns you have raised. If a patient initiates services with a physician's referral for diagnostic evaluation, we initiate these billable services. These charges are billed to the insurance, which is a customary practice throughout the medical industry. Often there is a co-pay, such as you have mentioned, of roughly $50 for diagnostic services.Following a diagnostic evaluation, at times a patient is recommended for additional consultation. The free consultation we provide is sometimes at a separate office visit, and may provide initial guidance with no treatment or billable services. We provide free consultations to adults regardless of their insurance coverage, and during these consultations we strive to communicate effectively and with full transparency to all of our patients.Understanding the financial aspects of medical services is crucial, and we strive to ensure that all patients have the information they need to make informed decisions. For a clear understanding of your bill, please feel free to contact our billing department so that you are well informed as to what services and what visits you were billed for specifically.
