********************* of **********: ***** and ******* are who we dealt with for a June 3, 2023 wedding at **** in ****. First and most critical, P&P recommended a liquor caterer that had been operating for them (for years!) WITHOUT A LIQUOR LICENSE. One month before our event, after failed attempts to get in contact with this caterer, P&P casually and without apology informed us (in response to our inquiring of his whereabouts) that he was "no longer in business" due to legal issues. There was a warrant out for his arrest, he was charged with a felony, and was nowhere to be found! P&P never apologized nor offered any reimbursement for the 2 installments we'd already paid ($4,000!). This was weeks before our event! Fortunately, we were able to locate another liquor caterer with availability that day on such short notice, however; we ended up spending nearly 2x the original beverage budget. Additionally, P&P informed us just weeks prior to the wedding (not when the initial contract was signed months before) that we couldn't have the rehearsal at the venue the day before the wedding (which is customary). They casually responded 'just have it Thursday' which is impossible when more than half the bridal party was arriving from out of town on Friday. We had to scramble to come up with a new rehearsal location and pay to rent it. We found out the day of the wedding at 11am (the earliest we could get access to the venue) that NONE of the equipment in the kitchen (ice maker, refrigerator, and freezer!) was working. ******* told us they were aware of this 'malfunction' the day before. However, no one from P&P bothered to notify us in advance so we could be prepared to have coolers to store food and/or ice. It was over 90 degrees that day! We had wedding guests running out during the reception to buy bags of ice.Unfortunately, the owner of **** (**************** of CA), even after hearing of our troubles, particularly the one surrounding the liquor caterer, did nothing.
