I think I owe it to anyone and everyone to write a review about AZ Construction about our very negative experience with them.  AZ built a large shop building for us, the project started in October and just finished in April. Many corners were cut with construction and the finish work was terrible. Simple things that should be basic construction “know-how” were missed, such as doors that are not installed correctly and garage door openers that fall off the wall due to the attaching lag bolts not being placed in studs. The roof leaks already.
The head foreman for AZ, Elijah, is lazy and has no attention to detail or time management whatsoever. The sliding doors are very poor quality and when we complained about, our concerns were basically ignored. Many pieces of tin are cut too short creating holes big enough for birds to get through, and the holes were not repaired when brought to their attention. All of the tin on the outside looks like it’s been through a hail storm owing to over-tightening the screws; again, basic construction knowledge that they should have known how to do correctly. They do a “walk through” and make you sign that everything is up to par, all of the corners they cut to save time where not noticed due to appearing to be good for the time being. Other times we simply signed due to pure frustration that the job still isn’t done up to par, and as of today birds are still getting in through the sliding doors that was suppose to be corrected. We are still having to correct the simple things that should have been done correctly in the first place. We were excited to give this crew a chance and had another project lined up for them but after this $220,000+ lesson learned, we canceled the other project with them. Look elsewhere for a reputable pole barn builder.

We appreciate the opportunity to respond to this review and provide clarity regarding the situation.
To begin, AZ Custom Remodeling did not complete a project for Mark B*******. Our contract, communications, and completed work were all with his father, Greg B*******. Mark was not involved in any part of the planning, execution, or decision-making for this project. In fact, we had no interaction with Mark until after the project had been completed and paid for in full.
It is also worth noting that Mark refers to our company incorrectly in his review, further highlighting his lack of involvement or familiarity with our business.
The project for Greg included a large shop building with concrete work, a divider wall, insulation, and an interior liner package. At the completion of each major phase, our owner, Zach, conducted in-person walkthroughs with Greg, who signed off on each phase without issue. We have no record of any formal complaints from Greg during or after the project. Payment was made in full, and Greg expressed satisfaction with the completed work.
Regarding Mark’s personal experience, he requested a siding project for his home. However, he later canceled that project, citing financial constraints due to poor farming conditions. Despite the deposit being clearly marked as non-refundable, we refunded 50% as a goodwill gesture.
Following that, Mark sent several text messages to our owner, explicitly stating that if the remainder of the deposit was not refunded in full, he would leave a negative review on the Better Business Bureau and warned us to “think wisely” before making our decision. This was not implied — it was clearly communicated in writing that unless we refunded the deposit in full, he would post a negative review. We have preserved these communications and are prepared to share them if necessary to substantiate our position. This confirms that his review was not motivated by genuine dissatisfaction with a completed project, but rather submitted as an attempt to pressure our company into returning funds that were clearly designated as non-refundable. This behavior demonstrates clear and deliberate malicious intent, especially considering Mark was never our customer and had no involvement in the project in question.
We understand the importance of honest feedback and take all reviews seriously. However, in this case, the claims made are inaccurate and come from an individual who was not our customer and did not participate in the project. We stand by the work we completed for Greg B******* and remain committed to professionalism, transparency, and quality construction.

A lot of experience gained for them at my cost in building their first building. Interior workmanship concerns, sub work was fine.

We appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback on your experience with us. However, we must say your review comes as quite a surprise, given the extensive measures we took to ensure your satisfaction.

From the outset, we anticipated potential challenges in constructing AZ's first Post Frame building, and we proactively implemented steps to mitigate any issues that might arise. We completed your building pad, valued at $4,000.00, at no additional cost to you. Additionally, we offered a 10% discount on the building, valued at $17,249.39. Throughout every phase of the construction process, we maintained a hands-on approach, conducting walkthroughs to address any concerns swiftly and even making an additional trip to handle all punch list items.

Regarding the specific issue with the power cord for your opener, as Zach explained in your previous text conversation, it was not supplied by the building manufacturer. While we understand this inconvenience, we've already taken steps to ensure such oversights don't occur in the future.

In our correspondence, you explicitly mentioned we needed to determine the most suitable remedy for the situation. As detailed in the email we sent yesterday, considering the discounts already provided and other factors, we deemed it appropriate for you to cover the cost of the power cord.

It's disheartening that with over 12 years of friendship with our owner, your experience culminated in a negative review. Our longstanding relationship should have facilitated open communication and trust. Instead, it's regrettable that your dissatisfaction stemmed from what we perceive as unjustified accusations and aggressive behavior, including harassing texts, phone calls, and threats against our delivery drivers.

While we regret that we were unable to meet your expectations regarding this project, we sincerely apologize for any shortcomings in our service and the resulting dissatisfaction you experienced.
We always aim to provide the highest service standards and ensure our customers' satisfaction. We take your feedback seriously and will use it as an opportunity to learn and improve.

We appreciate your understanding and wish you the best of luck with your future projects.
