If I could give 0 stars I would. He is unlicensed and had someone else pull permit! Money hungry and extremely poor workmanship. I purchased first new home in butler co. and old deck needed to be replaced. Seller was to pay 1/2 and we would pay the other 1/2. Original deck was covered and screened in and had 2 working ceiling fans. New deck was supposed to be like for like. Hapner Construction has 2 employees (Josh Hapner/owner, and his son). Our deck is beyond horrible! Josh thew out ceilingfans he was supposed to hang back up on the new covered deck. He just left the original conduit with the electrical wires hanging out and told us WE could put up the ceiling fans (the ones he threw out). The screen he used is cheap and not pulled tight. Infact it doesnt even go all tbe way up to the roof of the deck. I now am the proud owner of an aviary as birds are flying in. He offered to hang a door if we bought one, so we did. He tried to hang the screen door having it open inward instead of outward like ALL screen/storm doors are supposed
to open. Instead of constructing a frame for the door he slaped up some 2×4's on one side and attached the other side to the cedar post. I found 2 pieces of new door he never attached. Lumber was left directly on ground in an area where water pulls and caused severe rotting on the main frame of the PT wood. Used same drill punch setting on all the wood causing many splits and cracks In all of the main support posts and joists. Saw blade used to cut wood is dull and splintered all the edges of every piece of wood. The deck boards arent placed evenly. One railing is an 1.5 inches shorter than the other one. The gutters were supposed to be rehung but his measurements were off and told us we could call a gutter company and have them come out. We told him no he had to do it. We now have water dripping down from poor instalation. We complained and he said it's not his fault but the lumber co's fault. We now have to pay 3K to have it fixed!!
