I went to First Dental for a cavity but when I got there they said that two teeth had a cavity and they were needing to fix them. They gave me options and when they finished with the options they informed me that I would have to pay up front if I chose the crowns. They informed me of the price and I would have to pay up front. I did go with that option for I had the money at the time and paid up front for the crowns. They were placed on with me knowing I had paid and a year later they sent me a bill. I would have never chosen the option for the crowns for it would have been way cheaper. I cannot afford what they are asking was 800 now they adjusted to 668. They never said it was an est for I would have never gone with that choice. Now once that they have placed the crowns they want more money. I find that convenient that they want more. I offered to pay half and they said no they will send me to collections. The issue they were off on what they informed me I needed to pay up front and I don't feel I should have to pay a large amount where this is their miss calculations. I was hoping you could help me in setting this matter please

    Business Response

    Date: 01/16/2025

We value the opportunity to address concerns and improve our
services. After reviewing the situation, we identified areas where
communication and clarity could be improved.
From our perspective, the patient was presented with a
treatment plan estimate that included coverage under two insurance plans. At
the time, both plans were verified to be active, and the estimate reflected what was
expected to be covered. However, one of the insurance plans retroactively
terminated coverage after the treatment was provided. This retroactive
termination was beyond our control and was only discovered once the insurance
    finalized its processing.
In response, we have implemented additional staff training
on our procedures and are enhancing our internal protocols to ensure a better patient experience in the future. We have reached out privately to the individual who
filed the complaint to understand their perspective and work collaboratively
    toward a resolution.

I have spoken with First Dental office manager. She saw my point of view and I appreciated her taking the time to speak with me and hear my side. The office manager was very polite and still wants my business and I appreciate that. We have settled this and I want to thank you for taking the time to do what you did. I do appreciate what you all do for us that feel we are not being heard.

    thank you
