On Friday, May 10th 2024, in the morning, I had called Lucas Auto Glass & told them that I had a very small, star-like chip on my windshield, from a rock hitting my windshield. I asked the woman I was speaking to, (her name is ******* if they could repair the chip on my windshield. She said they could & then I proceeded to ask her how much it would cost. She said they would charge $37 & some cents. I asked if I could set up an appointment for that day, she said I could go in at 4:30 pm that day.
I get to Lucas Auto Glass a little before 4:30 pm & waiting for the guy that fixes windshields. I waited for about 10 minutes. He shows up & we walked out to my vehicle, so I could show him where the chip was located on my windshield. He then asks me to drive my vehicle, (2019 KIA Sportage), to the back of the shop. I proceeded to do so & waited in my vehicle as he starts to fix the small, star-like chip. As he was working on the star-like chip, he got worried & said, “oh crap.” I looked at what he was doing & he had actually cracked my windshield. He walked away, then came back about 10 minutes later & said to me, “well I apologize, but unfortunately I cracked your windshield. You will have to wait & talk to my boss, (******, & she will have to talk to you about the money situation.” He stated that his boss was not there at the moment, but she would be back soon. He asked me to drive my vehicle back to the front & to go inside & wait to speak with ****** I waited for about 20 minutes & then was able to speak with her.
She told me that obviously the guy had broken my windshield, but they would not be able to fix it or put a new windshield in, free of cost. I told her that I didn’t understand why they could not, because I had come in for an easy fix & the guy ended up making it worse. She told me “that there was a sign hanging up, stating, “that there is a possibility of this happening to windshields, when coming in for a repair.” I told ***** that I never saw this sign.

First off we are not Lucas Glass anymore and ***** ***** does not work here either.  As for the complaint we offered to pay for half of windshield replacement since it cracked when we were trying to repair it but she said we should pay for the whole thing.  We do have a sign posted outside my office door stating that it is a possibility that windshield can crack when trying to repair it and that we are not responsible for replacing it if it does.  The sign is also posted up at the parts counter where the register is so it's not our fault she did not see it.  She stood at my office door when she came in right by the sign.

      ********** ********

I am rejecting this response because:

This company did not offer to pay for half of my windshield & I never said that I would pay full price for it. The woman told me that they would give me a discounted price on my windshield, which would be a total of $240. After she told me that, I declined & left the premises. I never did see a sign that stated, “the possibility of my windshield cracking, while being repaired,” & they never verbally told me that it was a possibility either.
