Rader Lodge is a con. The lodge is on the internet and there is actually NO LODGE. Jeff went bankrupt two to three years ago and does guided and non-guided hunts on different farms. We paid him $1750 a day for 5 people to hunt $9050 for the week. Jeff said most of the time we would limit out. Starting Monday Jeff met us at the breakfast bar and gave us a hunting app and gave us a pin on the map on where to hunt. He sent us to a farm and said the guys Sunday missed alot of birds so we should be good. Between the 5 of us we shot 7 pheasant and 6 quail. We realized we were hunting stocked birds. Didn't jump any hens, just rooster, so we knew there couldn't be and reproduction. Tuesday Jeff gave us another point and we only got up two birds. Called Jeff and he said we would do a emergency hunt. He gave us another location and we found he stocked 15 birds and two where so dizzy that the dogs caught them. Wednesday we got 12 birds, Thursday got 13 birds. We wanted to hunt in the afternoons but where Jeff sent us there were no birds. Just tired us and dogs out. Friday the last day Jeff sent us another point. We jumped one quail all day. We asked for out money back for that day but Jeff has never returned anything. We at times hunt six dogs at a time and our dogs are shooting preserve dogs so if birds are there dogs will find them. Jeff made a fortune on us and he only cares about himself. Talking to the farmers there are not many wild birds left in Central Kansas. They have gone with no till farming and harvesting the corn and soybean to the bare ground. No food at all. Only place we could hunt was area a famer couldn't farm. W found Jeff's truck tracks at each farm so we knew the birds where stocked before we hunted. read less

Advantages: The hunting was very tough because the wind was unreal. Blowing so hard it made it difficult to walk. Did hear turkeys gobble the only morning with wind under 30 mph and saw turkey at long distance and turkey sign was almost everywhere. The property is about the only thing I can't complain about. Met the property owner when he was feeding his cows, got more information from him than from our "Guides". Food was put in the oven in the afternoon for evening meal. Disadvantages: When we arrived at our lodge, nobody was around and it was locked. Texted Jeff, he did call back about 20 min later and then told us that there was a key in the window. Information that would have been nice to know before arriving. Everyone on the street with this "lodge" has to know where the key is, so not save to leave anything of value. To say the lodge was filthy was an understatement!!! Dirt in the beds, used towels and bathcloths in the shower (also just nasty), spider webs and bugs everywhere. Kitchen area was unspeakable and open drinks and leftovers in the refrigerator. I had communicated repeated times that one of our hunters needed a blind because of limited mobility, when ask, they did supply a blind, but no chair. Had been told that the blind would be set up close to feed. Asked Jeff if he wanted to be notifed if we killed anything, "NO, you are on your own, come and go as you please". There was no good place to clean a turkey if we had gotten anything and no freezer except a small section of refrigerator freezer to put any meat or turkey. Had paid for a semi-guided hunt, just barely got shown where the property was. Was told to let them know if we wanted to move, but never asked how we were doing until last afternoon and got a text that "you are good hunters, just bad weather". Not as advertised. It is a DIY hunt, NOT Semi-Guided. No help with finding turkeys.
