LCB Towing Company picked up my son's car on 12/3/22, after the police department received a call that the car was abandoned. Out mechanic was supposed to pick it up, but the tow company got to it before he did. A few weeks went by and we hadn't heard back from the mechanic that it was done, so we called him, and he said he did not have the car. At that point, we called the police station to see if they had any record of it. They said no, and suggested we start calling all the tow companies in town. So, I did, and found it. The tow company never attempted to reach us to let us know they had it, I contacted them 35 days after they had it. Now they won't let us pick it up without paying $***** now, plus $** per day. They claim that the law is that they have 40 days to notify us. ********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************* The person I spoke with who claims to be the owner, refused to give me his name. I have reached out to the ****** Department of Revenue, the local sheriff's office, and today left a message for the Attorney General to find out what the law actually is. We are just going to pay them because we want the car out of their hands. And keep trying to get to the bottom of this. I do not want them to take advantage of others like they are doing to us. Help! We are going to pay and pick the car up tomorrow, because they are closed tonight, and the guy who claims to be the owner, said he would have someone meet us to pick up the money, which is super sketchy. We are going to make sure he gives us a receipt. Then I can send it to you.
