I suspected that the heads were damaged on my vehicle due to the radiator failing prior to the service visit where the week before I replaced the radiator, the water pump housing, the water pump, the thermostat housing, thermostat, and the PCV Valve vacuum line the week before and drove it about approximately 20 mi. without it overheating where it produced a lot of smoke from the exhaust Ifor about 5 seconds where I shut it off to inspect the engine. It would only start briefly two more times after that. I figured that coolant was leaking into the the cylinder or cylinders from the pressurized coolant system from a blown head gasket or cracked head. I took off the radiator cap to stop any more coolant contamination into the cylinder from the pressurized cooling system. However, the battery did not enough energy to continue after trying to start it for a long period of time and I was not in a place where I could work on it myself so I left it at ***** ***** ********** ****** on Shawnee drive.

The next day I visited Paisanos Service shop asked them if they could tow my vehicle there and then take a look at it to see if it was head-gaskets or cracked head causing the smoke and it not start again. It could have been the pcv valve. I just replaced the vacuum line and it could have been stuck open burning a lot of oil in the cylinders and produced the smoke.and oil fowling the plugs. They could be removed and cleaned with gas to correct oil fowling. I have a new set of plugs for the vehicle however Paisanos said the could diagnos the problem and that would cost $89 to do that. After that I was either going to fix it my self based upon what Paisanos told me what was wrong with it. It was agreed to have the starting issue diagnosed and I was going to decide if I was going to retire the car or if it was fixable myself based upon what Painos determined. I was not going to have the heads fixed. The battery needed to be charged and the cylinder blown out as a minimun to start the car....

Paisanos called me 3days later after towing my car there and told me that they had pulled the plugs and were replacing them to get car stated. I told them not buy any parts. I could bring the new plugs I had it needed but not to rep[lace parts to diagnos it. I could do that if they determined that was the problem.

To make a long story short they called me and said my heads were shot but they got it to start after pulling the plugs, cleaning them and said it was starting. but smoking badly.. At that point the told me that my bill was $300+ for getting the car to start.

I told them to be fair I would pay them $100 for the diagnosis. However, the car is not going to be fixed. I will drive it back to my apartment if they really fixed the starting problem, not the smoking blown heads, since they had to clean 3 plugs to get it to start I think $100.is fair

The salvage value of the vehicle is $300+ and my tools and belongings are in the vehicle of which the Paisanos offered no help to get my things out of the vehicle and back to my apartment so they are not stolen out of the car while we have this undisclosed bill resolved either here or in court with the police. They have refused to give my car back to me with my belongings unless I pay $300+ for diagnosing it. I don't know yet if it will actually start.

Paisanois offered for $2000.00 to be replace the heads on the vehicle That's rediculous!. The car is worth $300+ with a crack heads or blown head gaskets. It can start and if it does I will drive it with that damage back to my apartment. and then retire it on my own schedule to the buyer of my choice. It's not theirs to steal the salvage value from me for just diagnosing the problems of it not stating which they said they cleaned off 3 plugs. It probably started after sitting foir 3 days. and blew a lot of smoke and this is just there story. I told them I figured the heads were shot and I just needed them to figure out why it would nit start. and that was going to cost me $89 and I was going to have a friend help me tow it back,
They are holding my car and belongings hostage to get my cars fair market value in repairs costs I did not authorized. It was just supposed to be diagnosed for $89 no parts replaced. I

I had my vehicle towed to the mechanic's shop which I paid the charge of $75. to have in the shop to determine the problem with the vehicle not starting and producing a lot of smoke when it was started

    Business Response

    Date: 10/16/2023

When you brought the car you wanted the vehicle to be 'running'; able to drive. You already knew the heads are blown; we confirmed it. We had to remove and replace all 6 sparkplugs, check/test pressurized levels, and refill the coolant. It is clearly evident that the heads are blown but with the vehicle needing to come to the shop via tow we have no way of verify. We diagnosed and advised about the plugs and again for the heads. We are willing to lower the remaining balance to $150.00 .
