      On January 24, 2024, I took my 2013 Xterra in for maintenance at Metcalf location. The car has had only one owner prior to myself and that owner was my daughter who serviced the car regularly and faithfully* ***** ************** with Meineke has assigned a claim number ****** 
      There was a scraping noise when the brakes were applied and the engine light was on. I stressed to ********* at Meineke that I was about to take a 12 hour road trip on Jan 31. I requested a diagnostics, lube job, antifreeze check and to check why the heating and air conditioning would randomly work and not work. I informed him that in August of 2023 brakes were new, suspension,rotors, coolant, spark plugs, and alignment new and completed.

      I RECEIVED A CALL FROM ***** the bad news was something that would require 19 hours to fix & I "should just get rid of the car". ***** went on to say, he found a radiator hose to replace radiator hose I had that had a "hole". One of the items that I declined was a coolant flush because I just had that done in August 24. ***** said he can't fix the radiator hose unless that was done. I also declined the air flow.

      I believe there will be witnesses coming forward to attest to this scam.
      I picked up my car, and I immediately had MAJOR problems driving, with gas acceleration not accelerating pass 20 mph & just stuttering. It will run for awhile okay and then revert back to not accelerating & stuttering. Again, having a good deal experience with the mechanics of a car, this was a major problem that had the car been acting like this prior to my dropping it off, knowing I was going to go on 12 hour road trip, & knowing my sister who was paying for everything, I WOULD HAVE INFORMED ********* WHEN I DROPPED CAR OFF INITIALLY.

      It was 15 seconds out of parking lot, car had major acceleration problem.

      Work was not done, or it did not need to be done, and I was charged. Air hose was intentionally sliced by Meineke -- it was reckless endangerment.

      On May 1st, 2023 I took my car into Meineke in Lawrence, KS to get a tune up, coolant flush, air filter replacement, cabin filter replacement and valve cover gasket replaced. I seemed to have a good experience. I then returned my car to the same location on July 5th, 2023 to get a wheel alignment and oil change. Upon receiving my vehicle from the location I was driving on the Kansas turnpike back to Kansas City and my skid plate broke off of my car. I called the company and had the skid plate replaced. I drove to another Meineke in Overland Park, KS to have the skid plate taken the rest of the way off and they ordered a new one to be put on the car. The skid plate was installed on July 8th, 2023 in Overland Park, KS. I had spoken to **** ****** ******** ** ********** for Meineke KC who stated " I don't know why you need a skid plate because all it does it catch oil drips but I can understand why you would want it." I also had to return to the Overland Park location on July 10th, 2023 to have my car realigned because the first time it was aligned it was not done properly. At the end of my visit on July 5th, 2023 I was told that I needed an engine tune up, a coolant flush as well as my cabin filter needing to be replaced. I found that strange because I had previously paid $1,285.52 to have all of that done. It seems to me that either the work was not accurately done on May 1st or it was done and they lied in July saying it needed done. Either way I cannot seem to trust what this company is actually telling me and I can not in good faith believe that they actually did anything to my car other than replace the skid plate.

      I spoke to ****** on 7/15/2023. He was looking for a refund on some coupons that were not applied at the time of service. ****** was ok with a complimentary oil change service in lieu of the refund (the service was of greater value than the coupons would have been). All issues with the second service were remedied on 7/10/2023.
